Super good food. Lots of variety. Fast service. Small amount of seating outside which would be good for summer. Most of the menu is gluten free and it’s all dairy free. Also had pup cups that were home made! Our dogs loved them.

Just found out about this place. Had the orange chicken and some dumplings. Both were really good. Both had great texture and good flavor. Portion size was good. She even threw in a fruit cake that was really good also. They’re 100% gluten free celiac safe and lots of vegan options. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

I was so excited to discover this cart today, as it’s very difficult to find places that are both vegan & GF. Much to my surprise, everything here is gluten free, safe for Celiacs, and most of the items are vegan as well. It took me a few minutes to pick what I wanted to order, as I’m not used to having so many options, but I finally decided on the peachic with the tofu and the black rice pudding. Both were amazing! The portions were large, so I’ll be having leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Thanks so much for the delicious food made just for people like me!

Wonderful, friendly owner and delicious food. Highly recommend the Pea Chick! Best mango sticky rice I have ever had by a long shot. They also sell fancy pup cups if your dog needs a treat too.

We’ve been getting food from this gluten free and vegan food cart for a number of years now. It’s always SO GOOD and the lady who runs it is wonderful and so nice. The food is just awesome and for my wife and daughter who are gluten intolerant this place is a 10/10! Even if you are not GF and I am not, the food is so tasty.

Went to La Mai today for lunch, and it hit the spot.. my friend recommended La Mai as I wanted something vegetarian, so ended up ordering the Summer Roll, Mango Curry with Tofu, and Giner Orange with Tofu. The summer roll tasted very fresh, there was so much flavor with a slight kick to the mango curry, and the ginger orange was all in all hearty. Plus the owner (I presume) was great — fantastic service and friendly. I’d highly recommend La Mai.

Sizeable portion of chill, fun vibes of the customer service but the food was great too! So grateful for their V/GF options for basically every menu item. Not bad prices + they were open on a Sunday late afternoon when most of the other Asian carts there weren’t. Pictured: Tofu La Mai Roll

Flavors – over 5 different tastes in my meal – across a spectrum of Sweet, Spicy and Hot.
I had the Avocado Salad + Tofu pieces – made from her country style of dish. The salad dressing was spicy, but after you finished the bite – you could feel it’s spice while you were smacking your lips, licking them calming it down – while enjoying even more of the flavor.
The Crispy Tofu was very unique – never had it like that. Was not a big fan of uty, but my friend was. He had the wide Lomein Egg Noodles with Chicken. Very tasty, yummy gravy style sauce – not hot. Egg Noodles were great texture and filling – not limp – but firm and just enough chew to make you feel happy and filled.
They said you can get anything, veggie – just add meat if you want it.
The Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect finale of the meal. The sweet mango, mixed with ‘Bak’ Rice, dark purple sticky rice bundles and soaked in a creamy sweet dairy, maybe, sauce.
Didn’t ask about Vegan options – but I’m certain you can steer around their menu.
One of the most amazing meals I have had in quite a while.
Highly Recommend!

My favorite cart in all of Portland. I drive 30 min to come here. Get the La Mai noddles w/ tamarind sauce. Relatively affordable and insanely delicious. I literally dream of this place from time to time

I wish I could rate them better. The server was nice, she made sure to let me know that the tofu was in fact tofu and not chicken. I really appreciated that assurance because it did look like chicken. But, to my disappointment, I don’t love the tough type of tofu that they served. Along with that, I think I just ordered the wrong thing. The pictures of their food look so good, but I got noodles and they were a bit disappointing. Drowning in a sweet sauce, and not many vegetables and the too-tough tofu. Big portions. They do good marketing! But I just wish the the food was better.
