LA MAGDALENA OR KNOWN BY THE LOCALS AS THE LITTLE MAG… has been part of the Addison community for over 43 years. Since the early 1970’s Jose Fernandez have been captivated with the many wonderful flavors that Mexican cuisine has to offer. With that in mind, he spent five years on a grand and fascinating venture exploring the art of Mexican food. He discovered many recipes including his personal favorites, directly from where they originated. He selected dishes primarily from the Northern border towns (which is where he’s from), but have included recipes from South and Central Mexico as well. He put much thought and hard work into creating this unique menu and finally in July of 1976 – He opened La Magdalena Wonderful Mexican Restaurant

Been here a few times now and every visit has been outstanding! The food and service never disappoint. Even on a busy day they make sure to take care of you. Food is always cooked to perfection and everything is so fresh. I love that they give free chips with mild and hot salsas, they also offer a free soup with your entree order. They have amazing margaritas too! So glad to have this place in my neighborhood and can’t wait to come back!

I absolutely love this place! Im still sitting in the booth as a write this. Thats how awesome this place is. The staff is so nice and attentive. Get the carne !!! On a level of its own!

I spent $68 on a super burrito (al pastor) rice and refried bean.
Beans were basic, out of a can. The rice was good, nothing special.

This was my very first visit to this restaurant and I’ve been in this area for 10 years. Unfortunately I cannot give them a positive review. The food was extremely over priced, if I wanted a true super burrito for $15 I would’ve went to spot on Irving Rd. Their’s is literally 12 inches long while this one was barely 6 inches and they cost the same. There are so many Mexican restaurants in the wood dale addison area you would think they would’ve done their research and visited each location.
At this point I will never visit this location again. Not remotely worth the money.

The Ambiance was fabulous, the food was amazing! I absolutely love the homemade tortillas. Wonderful selection of vegetarian options 🙂 overall some of the best Mexican food that I have had in a really long time, aside from the food my family makes. It felt very authentic. I really loved the creative flavors. Everything was fresh tasting! I do personally think the rice could use a little more seasoning but that’s just my opinion oh, nothing a little salt couldn’t fix

We have been coming here for probably 20 years now. Been here for work lunches and family dinners over the years. The food is always excellent. And when you are here you have the attention of a family owned establishment. I typically get the taco dinner, but sometimes the carne assada, or combination dos. All are fantastic. Highly recommend this for family dinners or even lunch. The red sangria is good too!

Just a quick A+++++ update. Queso Fondido and Carne Asada was fire! This small Mexican restaurant throws down on the ceviche, the salsa, the margaritas and everything else they make.
Had the Pancho Villa steak dinner, it was mouth watering just thinking about it. Hot, fresh, delicious ingredients. They have a hand made & shaken margarita and a few flavors including fresh pineapple ! Go check it out if you have not been ! I was too busy eating to take photos of the food, just that great!
