We haven’t been to Lupa for many years, even though we live close by. Regardless, we knew it would be a wonderful experience and it was as always. This is my favourite Italian restaurant in Melbourne, and I have eaten at many over the decades. The service is professional and friendly and the atmosphere is energetic without being overwhelming. My partner enjoyed the arancini for entree and linguine marinara for main. I had the bruschetta for entree and my main was gnocchi pesto. The gnocchi I couldn’t finish due to the full serving and it was delicious. The tomato on my bruschetta was so fresh and the bread base had that perfect wood fired taste. For both of us, the total was $150. We both had a pre-dinner drink – a Negroni and pale ale, an entree and main plus a glass each of Heathcote shiraz. I think the price was very reasonable given what it must cost to run a restaurant. By the time we left at 7.30pm , it was a full house, with patrons collecting take away throughout our visit. We will definitely be back!

We could not fault the wood-fired pizza — it was genuinely authentic Italian pizza and honestly the best pizza we have ever eaten. Absolutely outstanding.
We also ordered the meats and cheeses dish. Portion-wise it was excellent value for the cost, and the selection of cured meats was lovely. However, the menu states chef’s selection of meats and cheeses and vegetables, and this is where it fell slightly short for us. There was only one type of cheese despite the menu stating cheeses (plural), and the vegetables amounted to a small amount of rocket, which didn’t quite feel like a true vegetable selection.
That said, we will definitely be back — the pizza alone is worth returning for, even if we might skip the meats and cheeses next time.

I ordered a gnocchi for takeaway. I paid $28 the Portion that I was given was a joke for $28
Not even half of a take away container how can you possibly justify these Portions as main meal
Very disappointed and feeling ripped off.
The Taste was nice, but I Didn’t see the value in it.
I will not be ordering that again..

The best Italia restaurant in Melbourne- we discovered this lovely restaurant a few years ago and we never regret coming back time to time. The food is fantastic- it is like eating in Italy. The desserts are amazing- our favourites are tiramisu & Nutella calzone. Also gluten free options available.

We ordered 2 gnocchi’s for take away. Portions were ridiculously small for $30ea & handed to us in a Woolies paper bag. Didn’t enjoy the texture of the Gnocchi & didn’t find the flavour anything special.
We were offered a free portion after calling to query if we’d received entre sizes by mistake. But after dinner, we decided we wouldn’t go back for more.

I’ve dined here twice, and both experiences were exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and the staff are genuinely kind and attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Really great experience here!! The food was amazing and the service was super friendly. Jess looked after us and was really lovely — attentive without being over the top and just made everything feel really easy and relaxed.
You can tell the staff here care about the vibe of the place and making sure everyone has a good time. Would definitely come back as I’m a local and love finding awesome gems like this one :)) – not to mention the food was amazing too!!

Wonderful service followed by excellent food! A great place for wood fire pizza and much more. The waitress Jess was engaging and did an excellent job making sure we had a great night without making her presence overbearing. 5 stars easy. Will definitely be coming again.
