Ordered beans and rice and a taco, chefs choice at noon here. Kind of pricey compared to others in town. About a buck more. The beans were runny like soup and room temperature. The rice tasted okay but, I ran into something crunchy like sand. The taco had cheese and lettuce? I didn’t try it as I could see that the meat was still pink from not being cooked. Normally I wouldn’t care but, it’s also a carniceria and the meat in the display all looked pretty old so…
It has great reviews on Google. Maybe this was just a bad day.

Are here twice in 3 days. Legitimately one of the two most authentic Mexican steak tacos I’ve had in Wisconsin. The food comes out insanely hot and fresh. It was incredible.
The staff was absolutely fantastic and knows their Mexican cuisine. They went above and beyond. This place is a hidden gem and my wife has insisted we’ll be coming back, again!

We had only a few minutes before our train departed and needed food and bathroom. The lady working was super nice and helpful and placed an order for me and my travel companion. Super clean bathroom. Made it with plenty of time to get on the train and had a tasty steak taco to tide us over. Thank you!

Usually a hole in the wall restaurant usually turns out to be a gem. But not this one, this one is beyond a gem; this has the best tacos in Illinois. One of the workers, a really grumpy old man, came up to us with an attitude, not even politely and told us that we needed to buy something. But it was the way that he looked at us and spoke to us that told me that I should get the tacos. So we ordered some chicken tacos they were super plain. Get the El Pastor tacos; obviously. We weren’t even offered sauce or anything with it; you have to get it yourself; like capitalism; don’t complain if you dont look out for yourself. The seats had a really old cushions. The restaurant has really bad lighting as well. The whole place is just dark.
Best taco shop in Illinois.

Usually a hole in the wall restaurant usually turns out to be a gem. But not this one, it was convenient because we were waiting on the train and had some time to spare. We had been standing out fighting the bees for a little so we decided to go in. We have luggage and everything and had a seat for us to catch our breath. One of the workers, a really grumpy old man, came up to us with an attitude, not even politely and told us that we needed to buy something. Which we already knew we were going to while waiting. But it was the way that he looked at us and spoke to us that rubbed me wrong. So we ordered some chicken tacos they were super plain. We weren’t even offered sauce or anything with it. The restaurant itself was just nasty tbh. It had a really old cushion seats. Which made me feel nasty just sitting in it so I got up and sat in one of the wood chairs. They should just throw those out entirely. The restaurant has really bad lighting as well. The whole place is just dark. Anyways, it was a last resort we had been dropped of at the train station so we didn’t have wheels and left had a 45 minute wait.

A small friendly Mexican grocery store with kitchen in the back. There’s only a few stools and a couple tables to sit at, but place your order at the back window and wait to get the best tacos you’ve ever had. Great salsa’s and everything is fresh and made to order.

Very authentic Mexican restaurant hidden in the back of a Mexican grocery store in Harvard IL. The carne asada tacos were fantastic, you can tell the meat was marinated for a long time! Even the nacho chips were authentic as they were fried. I also had some of their pork ribs. Very tender, meat was falling off the bone. English and Spanish are fluently spoken by the staff. I recommend the red hottest sauce as the best of all their sauces offered with your meal.
