It’s a decent local Mexican place, reasonable to average prices, plenty of seating, and diligent but not overbearing service. Our two dishes were out in about 5 minutes, so it can be a quick lunch. The food wasn’t extraordinary, but it was pleasant. The chips were warm and thin and crispy; the salsa was a bit watery.
I’m not sure what the hours are—they’re listed as being open basically from lunchtime through dinner and into late night, but they seem to close between lunch and dinner, around 3pm.

Tasty guacamole and chips, and beef enchiladas. The pitcher of house margarita was strong. The service was excellent and attentive. There is an automatic 18% gratuity. There is an approximate 4% discount if you pay in cash. This place was surprisingly-empty for a Friday evening around happy hour in December, 2025. We were the only people dining there until around 6pm.

I went to La Lomita Restaurant last year and was impressed with the Carne Asada )grilled steak), it’s very tender and tasty. I went back yesterday. The chicken taquitos are delicious as an appetizer.

We felt mistreated by the elder waitress and felt the apology was due to us mentioning how rude she had been. *I only mentioned her age because I dont recall her name*
Arrive we were greeted nicely by Host & escorted to a table with menu’s. Only one other patron was there!
The waitress said they expected a party of 30…
When she came outside, 2 of the guests were arriving, and she said hello to the outside guests as she walked to our table.
We began telling our orders… the waitress stopped immediately to greet, walk over to hug & talk(ask about family)& and escort the guests inside!
She ignored me, and I immediately said, “That was rude,” as she was standing and conversing with guests….she still walked them inside.
When she returned, we told her it was very disrespectful. He 1st response was defensive and lie. She said, “I don’t have my pad to write your order. “…
If that was the reason, she should have said that before we started telling the order.
The server wasn’t very friendly. The food will be the only reason I’d go again.

Always walked by this place so finally decided to check it out. We ordered the steak fajitas and a beef quesadilla. Both were flavorful and delicious. Price is pretty good for what you get. The staff were so friendly! Only thing is we didn’t think the frozen margs were that strong. I wasn’t even sure if there was tequila in it even though they insisted there was. I would come back for the food and ambience!

I font remember the name of the dish but it was excellent. I’m not big on fish dishes with alot of vegetables but this shrimp and scallops dish either the broth was spicy and tasty. The shrimp appetizers disappeared before I got to take a pic. Service was excellent and friendly so we will definitely return.

La Lomita was a great first time. Food
was good and the presentation top teir. Due to the weather not a lot of customers so we were able to get one on one service. I was okay with that. I will definitely return.

I tried the chicken and shrimp burrito with double rice and salad. It was pretty good and authentic. My husband had the beef nachos, they were ssssooo cheesy but he enjoyed them. Service was friendly and helpful for me just ordering take out.

This place has been in D.C. since 1984 so i feel bad that i haven’t come sooner being that i grew up only 5 minutes away. Always heard great things about the food and finally got to try for myself. This is one of a handful of authentic Mexican restaurants in the D.C. area and i must say that they didn’t disappoint at all. We tried the fajitas and tacos. The tortillas were hand made and the steak was very flavorful and tender. Was the best Mexican food I’ve had to date in the DMV area. Will definitely be back very soon.
