I like the decor in the front room but the back reminds me of an old bar. The decor in the front dining room is nice even if they still have happy Valentine’s Day decor up and it’s August
Our waitress didn’t speak much English so there goes ordering to your desire bc you cannot express your desires.
She didn’t offer us the happy hour menu even though this place boasts about their happy hour and we were there at 5pm, right smack dab in the middle of their happy hour. Nothing was happy about the prices.
There were two of us. We got one strawberry margarita each and they were each $20. They pack a nice punch but most of their drinks are around $20 and most of them use house liquor. Get outta here w that. I pay $13-$15 for margaritas w casamigos in most places so to pay for house crap and pay $20 is wild.
Tacos- we got el pastor and birria. Both were delicious and plentiful but $20 each. You get no sides. Nothing.
If you want to get chips and Guac- another $20. Why is it $20 for guacamole and chips? Crazy times we’re living in.
They don’t give you any chips and salsa to start. No sides. Everything is ala carte. So overrated. Don’t believe everything you see on TikTok or IG. And don’t expect any discounted drinks during happy hour. lol. And one napkin for messy birria tacos. I had to wait to get another. Take $4 off that gratuity bc I couldn’t even wipe my mouth.
Then for two people they added 18% gratuity. For what?! I couldn’t even communicate what I friggin wanted. I mean our server was nice and smiled a lot but that didn’t help us much. That was the two stars for service bc she was nice and smiled but we could not communicate our wishes.
So for 2 people, two orders of tacos ( cant call it an entree bc nothing comes with it) and twi margaritas with gratuity, our bill was $98. I could’ve went to the Taco Foodtruck and been happier w the prices. I feel like this restaurant OWES me money for the trouble it took to find parking.
Highway friggin robbery for having to park a block away at that and not even be offered happy hour drinks. This isn’t some classy restaurant but they’re charging classy prices and “valet” parking w no one outside is an extra $5. lol.
I liked my tacos. they were good and plentiful but I will go elsewhere for them going forward. I also felt they had good flavor unlike some of the reviews I’ve read.
Ever hear the saying “one and done”? Never agin will La Llorona make a profit off of me w their ridiculous overpricing and crappy location.
I will spend money on a good meal and I will tip 20% or more but not when you decide for a party of two
to throw a tip on and you can’t even communicate menu items with me.
Cheap money hungry establishment located in inconvenient location.
Update 9/8/24 The birria nachos, birria tacos, and birria burrito here are still better than the other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. On Sundays we were offered brunch with unlimited drinks for $45 for 2 hours but since my mom doesn’t drink we went a la carte instead.
