HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Salvadorian restaurant! I’ve had homemade Salvadorian cuisine back in San Diego (thanks to one of our good friends) so this place serves very authentic dishes from Salvador. Their prices are very reasonable based on their delicious dishes and their drinks were very good as well. It can get a bit packed in there but once you’ve tried, you’ll understand why…

The male server was very rude. He seemed like he didnt want to wait on me and mt girlfriend. The pupoosa had loroco but that was not listed on the menu. I asked if I can change the yellow rice on the breakfast for white rice and the server said “it comes with yellow rice” so basically no. The food was hot and fresh but the service or the lack of service was disappointing.

La libertad has been my #1 since childhood place to eat in. The best pupusas in the area for sure. Taste very authentic to its original taste. Clean enough environment, friendly service, and quick as well. Best Salvadorian food around for sure. The casamiento of bean and rice is delicious.

I love trying different food….I looked up on Google to see where to eat near Pelham recreation center and this place caught my eye. It is right next to the recreation center.
Every staff are SUPER friendly…seriously. I have never had Salvadorian food before so I asked the lady. She was so nice, she explained me the menu. Reasonable price, great food, wonderful staff and atmosphere.
I will def go back there again if I’m in Pelham.

Food was phenomenal!!! Will be coming back and recommending to everyone I know. Staff was very kind and patient with us. Orders were taken and food received very quickly. In awe of our meals and already can’t wait to enjoy the leftovers! Pictured Pan con Gallina, Chicarrones entomatados, and Modelo Michelado. Also enjoyed several pupusas and curtido not shown. Could eat here everyday!

They’re always so sweet, and they have the BEST pupusas! I love the pickled cabbage and red sauce they put with them as well, it really makes it magical ✨️ I recommend pork and cheese for sure, that’s my go-to

I truly enjoyed the quality of the food. As a fellow Colombian, I was disappointed to not find any Colombian options around Birmingham, AL (or all of Alabama for that matter). However, this Salvadoran restaurant was an excellent replacement. Everything was well cooked and I paid a fair price for a meal that filled me up for majority of the day, and I love to eat plenty.
The only reason I am taking off a star is because the waitress was not very attentive and looked irritated at times, which was rude. Also because they charged me an extra $2 for half an avocado.
Overall, I do recommend this restaurant. It would be 5 stars if it weren’t for those small downsides on the service.
