I chose this restaurant after reading the Google reviews, and I’m so glad I did—it was my first time in Alabama, and it did not disappoint. The food was so delicious that we ended up going back the very next day! The fresh condiments really stood out—they were flavorful and clearly made fresh. Our waitress, Chelsea, was warm, friendly, and very attentive throughout our visit. If I’m ever back in Birmingham, I’ll definitely be returning to La Juanita again.

I’m picky about AUTHENTIC Mexican food. My grandmother came from Mexico so I have high expectations. This place is amazing! The salsa was so fresh and homemade. The only issue I had is I wanted my eggs over medium and received them hard. My sauce was too “tomato” flavored for my liking but it was very mild for those that can’t handle the heat and want flavor. Overall, it a great place to go. I’ll be back.

Absolutely the best authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had. Bold full flavors, fresh ingredients. They have some pickled, habanero purple onions that are out of this world. My Husband and I split both the Quesabirras and loaded fajita nachos. It smelled so good that we got home an dived right in (no time for pics). Everything was delicious! If you are ever in Leeds or live in Leeds and want an authentic Mexican dish they are the place to be. Very clean inside and outside. The young ladies that served us were very nice and helpful. They also sell snack and candy items, very neatly displayed. We will most definitely be back again and again, so on and so forth. Thank you La Juanita for the deliciousness, we thoroughly enjoyed the food!

Flavors of Mexican culture are available locally without a Passport! We’re so thankful to discover La Juanita Taqueria; have quickly made this stop a favorite. Will take the challenge to try more of the menu, but the faves are too alluring. Authentic runs throughout; the food, atmosphere, condiments bar, pan pantry, etc. make a visit more like a tourist’s delight. Looking forward to next meal there. Photos are of Burrito Campechano, Carnitas, Tejas Fajitas, Carne Asada, and Chicken Fajitas.

Wow! This place looks small and family run and the food is REALLY good! Most of our group had a selection of tacos and they were VERY delicious. And the self serve salsa bar was awesome with about 5 different salsas to try along with Cole slaw and other toppings. This place is a “must try”!

Hands down the best restaurant in Leeds! If you happen to catch the chicken mole special on Wednesdays consider yourself lucky as it usually sells out before dinner. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and the food is always comforting

Great food!!! Extremely nice server too. They were extremely understaffed but our server took good care of us. No alcohol served but the food was so good it makes up for the lack of drinks. I had the taco tour which was a mixture of 13 different tacos. I will be going back to this place very soon.

This Mexican restaurant in town is renowned for its classic Mexican dishes. Instead of the tortilla chips, request tostadas. The salsa bar is an absolute must-try, and it’s available for all your tacos and tostada chips. And don’t worry, you won’t have to wait!

We went in an hour before closing. There was no salsa made for chips.
I ordered tamales and they were old and didn’t taste good. The rest of the food was lackluster, but the server was very nice.
