The food is consistently delicious—everything tastes fresh and full of flavor. Their margaritas are amazing, perfectly balanced and refreshing.
The staff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making every visit a great experience. Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area!

8.29.24 My 1st time here and loved it so I’ll be back. It all starts with the wait staff because that could make or break your dining experience. Our waitress was perfect. She was friendly, patient, efficient, she checked up on us periodically, she split our checks, filled the waters without being asked, etc. The food was fresh and had a good presentation. Ample parking. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

The food here was really good and the portion size might look small but it was perfect. Taco’s were really good, I like the wide variety of tacos that you can pick. Enchiladas were really nice, usually they’re very heavy, these were extremely nice and light. Staff here are fantastic, overall very friendly and helpful, always taking care of you. Drink menu will easily satisfy any alcohol consumer. Recommend to anyone who wants a nice Mexican meal with friendly staff and quick service.

La Joya has been a fantastic addition the Simsbury dining scene. The staff has always been pleasant on the numerous times we have eaten there. It very much has a coastal beach feel with the surfing motif. The margaritas never disappoint , and we happen to love “The Endless Summer.” The guac and queso are delicious. The tacos are always fresh and piping hot. Our favorites are the fried chicken, Al pastor, Baja fish, and the sweet chili shrimp. The carne asada, chorizo, and potato quesadilla is off the charts as are the fajitas. The chorizo empanada on special had a dough that was just wow!! Highly recommend.

Opening Night for Margaritas, Taco’s, and more! We really enjoyed our first visit. We tried the Al Pastor, Shrimp, Duck Carnitas taco’s, Ceviche, and House Margaritas were all excellent.
If you are open to a few suggestions: the owners should be on the floor introducing themselves and asking for feedback…also, chips and salsa should be complementary; consider adding a few chips with the excellent ceviche; and make your only churros dessert option complementary until you get up and running.
Overall, for your opening night we really enjoyed ourselves and we will be back.

Great choice of drinks, very polite and attentive staff, enjoyed the calamari with Serrano peppers. All tacos are very tasty and craft fully prepared. The ambience have been little more cozy but food surpasses all the expectations so it all comes together well.

Nice little restaurant. Great food (I’m mexican, so if they are advertising mexican styles, I am a tough critic). The food was really good!!! Love the flavor! The drinks were also very tasty and refreshing. I asked them to add a tajin rim on mine and they did it! The pics are from Shrimp Ceviche tostada (love the small bites, and still very filling), Shrimp taco, and the churros.

I went to La Joya when it first opened and was not impressed but figured I’d try it again. Have been back twice since then and had great experiences both times. Sat at the small bar and the bartenders are always friendly and attentive. Fajitas were delicious and chips/salsa were spot on. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
