Great food. They don’t smother the fajita meat in onions and green peppers. Instead, they caramelized the onion, which is so much better

Simply the best all-around fish and seafood I’ve experienced in the Rio Grande Valley. They make great ceviche and their “crab bombs” appetizers are “the bomb.” The fish with “no name” sauce is delicious and the Classic Tacos have spoiled me for any other fish place. I have never been disappointed there.

Went there today 7-22-2023 with my wife because I saw a very good rating on the restaurant. The atmosphere is dull and the food was not good. I ordered the street tacos and the Tortillas were semi cold and my wife ordered the fish platter with fish, crab, and shrimp and the everything had a different flavor. Not a good one. The crab wasn’t even crab it had tomato stuffed into it with something else but made to be a breaded crab. The fish didn’t even taste like fish neither the Tartar sauce. Won’t be going there ever again. Paid 54$ total not including tip which they didn’t deserve for the quality of customer service. Don’t recommend.

Visited La Jaiba recently on a Friday during Lent and was afraid that food quality and service would suffer due to the demand and rush but I was pleasantly surprised. We were seated rather quickly and placed our orders. We had a Fried Fish Platter, a Fried Fish/Shrimp Combo and an order of Rafafa (Mexican style Shrimp Salad). Everything was delicious especially the fried fish fillets. They were cooked perfectly. The Rafafa tasted slightly different from the ones I’ve had at other restaurants (in a good way) I thought it had a touch of worchestire sauce but I may be mistaken. I enjoyed it. Despite the Friday Lent crowd the service was on point. Our orders were taken quickly, the food surprisingly was brought to our table as we enjoyed the side salad. I recommend the Cilantro Ranch Dressing…..YUMMY.

Love the shrimp consome they serve at the beginning. Food is always made fresh and never disappoints.

Always excellent food! The variety of food is great, and the quality is incredible. I highly recommend the shrimp enchiladas, shrimp tacos, shrimp cocktail, blackened fish, and pretty much anything else on the menu!

The waiter was not knowledgeable on their food and the food was just ok. Not a good first time experience. Sorry but won’t return. Maybe other people have had a great experience but not my family.
