Very casual, fun atmosphere with good live music. Food was reasonably priced, quick and delicious. Picnic tables are available, you order at the truck and they bring it out to your table. If you want cocktails, there is a separate bar reasonably priced. We had a great time! Highly recommend for families and a very chill vibe!

After our second long day at Sombrero Beach, we needed food and wanted tacos and a beer, but wanted it off the beaten path and unique; we found what we dreamed of at La Isla. This tiny family run oasis tucked into nowhere is a gem. Service was personal and warm. Food was full of flavor and hand made. The house salsa was fantastic. We ordered a ton of food for two people and the prices were perfect. A vegan taco for $3.50? – unheard of while traveling in such a beautiful remote place. Again, this is a hidden gem I hope we can return to some day.

Expect delicious and authentic food, great service, and inexpensive but generous portions from this family run business. All tacos were amazing ( pastor, fish, and steak) the street corn is very good too

Cheapest Best meal in the keys. This is a permanent food truck. There’s a tiki hut bar area that has a few picnic tables if you want to eat there. We did take out. The prices are reasonable which is rare in the keys. Servings are generous and food tastes great.
We ordered quesadillas, tacos, super burrito, and nacho supreme. All were good and have no issues recommending any of them.
The only oddity is the small red sauces were what I received when I ordered extra salsa. It’s a tasty Hot sauce but definitely not what I expected for salsa and is not what you get with the chips and salsa. This salsa with the chips and salsa is a roasted salsa. It may be a little spicy for some people. I thought it was very good.

UPDATE: did get food poisoning from three bites of the tacos.
Legitimately shocked at all the good reviews. The meats on all three of the kinds of tacos we ordered were unidentifiable and I hope we didn’t get food poisoning. The chicken was definitely not chicken; it was covered in a mayonnaise sauce that tasted mostly like mayonnaise and didn’t disguise the weird flavor or texture of the meat or whatever it was. The al pastor seemed more akin to wet cat food than pork and was cooked in something very thick and red. The margs at the tiki hut next door were made from limeade and not drinkable. My son’s burger was fine and my daughter enjoyed her cheese quesadillas. I don’t think the guacamole was fresh as it seemed too green and had an off taste. All in all – yikes. This was our first night of vacation, we are exhausted from travel, and we just wanted something easy and delicious. Instead we got an inedible meal and are still starving!

What a gem to find! We had a large group of 17, so we understood good food takes time. Only had a couple item mix ups, but all things considered, we enjoyed our fresh, savory (and some were spicy) dinners! The drinks at the adjacent bar were delicious and a great price!

We tried a variety of tacos & the chicken nachos. All were delicious! The churros were great, the chips were awesome & the salsa was 10/10 (but definitely spicy!) operating next to the Tropical Cottages & their bar gives you a perfect, cozy hang out to enjoy great food!
