Opened on Dec. 21, 2020, La Hacienda South Jordan marks the fourth installment of the small family-operated restaurant chain in Salt Lake County. Esther Ornelas y Familia established La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant in May 1996. They opened their second location in Dec. 2010 and their third restaurant, Hacienda Mexican Grill, in October 2016. La Hacienda remains a local favorite, followed by generations of families.

This is a favorite place of mine! The food is always on point when we go no matter what you get. My favorite thing to get is the 4 carnitas tacos for $10. They come with onions and cilantro and a delicious green sauce on the side. The staff are so friendly and are pros at keeping your drinks filled. Love this place and can’t wait to get back here!

We’ve passed by here many times before. The restaurant is located next to Enterprise Rent-A-Car. And it’s around the corner from Hobby Lobby in The District.
Employees behind the front desk counter were very welcoming-warm-pleasant.
Seated promptly, water was quickly served with a menu.

It’s very unusual for me to rate a restaurant with a perfect all 5-stars, a rarity. The server was very pleasant-nice-attentive, consistent and checked back on if everything was good and if needed anything.
Chimichanga was cooked perfectly, crispy on the fried tortilla shell, soft-tender inner layers. Chips- salsa were fresh-delicious. The taco was a bit greasy on the shell. The food had harmonious flavors and unwavering consistency.
Mango Margarita was fresh and delicious on a hot summer day. The Mango Margarita had the right proportion and sweetness, it was blended perfectly.
The key aspect was how staff greeted visitors and their attentiveness throughout the meal, light Mexican music fills the air, décor style, and the efficiency-speed of red carpet service.
The gold standards of restaurant ratings. This authentic Mexican restaurant excels in all areas from ingredients, seasoning, food portions, and menu selections. Use of fresh and fine ingredients.
Fried beans/Spanish rice were a taste sensation where the flavor inebriates.
It has an authentic and genuine Mexican restaurant vibe. Symphony of flavors.
A gold platter delivery and a positive dining experience.
Will circle back.

I had such a great experience here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the chimichanga and the chile relleno, and both were amazing, crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The portions were generous and left me more than satisfied. The staff was warm and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better.

The food here is solid. I’ve tried a few different entrees and all have been good. Their cheese enchiladas are the best thing I have had their.

During our family outing we had stopped in for a dinner meal with my husband & children. I decided after a long day to treat myself to a strawberry daiquiri with my meal. Let’s just say the drink tasted horrible at first I thought it was just me until I asked my husband to try it as well. After tasting it himself he had agreed with me. Since it was dinner rush it was hard to get our servers attention so I decided it was OK just to walk it to the bar since we were seated a few booths behind the bar. Let’s just say the bartender wasn’t happy at all with me and quickly scolded me for walking it back to the bar and had informed me that the drinks should taste good because she had tasted at herself. I was very shocked to hear that the bartender taste the drinks that she makes before serving it to customers. She told me that I wasn’t allowed to walk with my drink back to the bar and then took my beverage from my hand. She then demanded that I go back to where I was seated to and to tell my server about the drink. There were two other female workers standing by and you could definitely tell they talked really bad about me after I turned around to walk back to my seat was going to order another alcohol beverage, but after hearing the bartender, admit to me that she tasted the drinks before serving them to the customers quickly did not make me feel safe to order another alcohol beverage.

Good food, over all OK service. The food doesn’t always have the same consistency. Sometimes it seems like the cooks don’t care. We’ve had meals that are really good and then we’ve had a few really disappointing meals. Meals where the wrong meat is used or is missing completely, items are missing from the meal, or just not cooked correctly. The wait staff can be inconsistent too. Some are very attentive, while others almost seem to ghost you once they give you your food. Over all we do like the restaurant, if our meal isn’t correct we let them know, if our waiter or waitress doesn’t check on us, refill our drinks, etc, that will be reflected in their tip.

UPDATE:
Still love this La Hacienda location. The staff are great, the food is great and we had our food so quick! Our drinks were kept full all night! The chicken fajitas were a hit this time!
This new location is very nice! Our food was yummy. It seems like they still have some kinks to work out. We only saw our server twice, didn’t get drink refills and had to ask another server to get our checks.
We will go back and give it another try in a few weeks or so.

I love Mexican places, but I was disappointed by this location. My chili relleno still had seeds in it. The beans were very runny. The server seemed irritated when I had to send my daughter’s food back because she ordered it covered in only cheese and not Chile verde. The atmosphere is great and the margarita was good, but I’ll be going to La Frontera from now on.

We went here for dinner and were not disappointed! Quickly seated and given chips and salsa. Service was quick, food was delicious (chili relleños, shrimp fajita quesadilla, and quesadillas de masa, all yummy), drinks were cold, and different sports games on each TV, something for everyone. Parking was quick and easy, and I think it is handicap accessible. The place wasn’t empty, but it wasn’t too crowded either, and it can handle big groups.
