The food price is way too expensive for the food poor quality. Small amount, and there was hair in my burrito. At this point none of us ate the food we ordered. I was able to get my money back for the cheese steak burrito since I ordered from DoorDash.

We waited a good 4 min to even be greeted even though there were workers walking around and at the cash register. Our waitress was very rushy and did not even know the menu I had to point and hand her the menu to show her what I wanted. They say their “Famous Cheese”. Yet they serve very little cheese on food. I would think it would have been much cheesier. Definitely not worth the price either.

Called in a pickup order. Did not have it ready and said they couldn’t find the order. Finally got the order: carnitas- cold but good; elote- TERRIBLE! Corn was dried out and tough; flan- tasted off. Then got charged for doing a pickup order! Ridiculous!!! We have order from there a lot in the past, even catered our business but I am probably done with LaHacienda Derby if they don’t make this right. $31 for bad carry out! Wow

Not sure why this place has low reviews. I almost didn’t try bc of it. BUT I’m sure glad I did! Margaritas were delicious. steak and chicken fajitas were great. Some said queso was watery but it was absolutely not! Some of the best queso I ever had. My mom had guacamole and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back again when I’m craving Mexican food. Our server Scarlett was sweet too.

***Diamond Review*** This is easily one of the BEST Mexican restaurants in the Wichita and surrounding areas! It is a little strange to get to with the road access. A friend took me here by chance the other day. I ended up going back with my husband and another friend 2 days later. I thought the restaurant was beautiful. The bar area is incredible. They have an outdoor patio. Perfect ambiance. The restaurant is clean. The staff is helpful and efficient even when it is busy. The best part is hands down the food. It has legit flavor! Not so spicy it was overdone and not bland either. It is flavor done to perfection! They serve several different types of meat. The taste is spot on. The freshness of the food was remarkable. When the food came out to us after initial tasting, we all commented on the freshness. It is that noticeable. Those are handcrafted flavors. They have fresh made elote. Good chips and dip. Their guacamole is made old school in front of you at the table. It’s absolutely delicious. Bursting with flavor. I just cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. It puts a lot of competition to shame. No joke. They have a big menu! All sorts of options! If you are doing Keto or low carb, their lettuce tacos are incredible. A little messy to eat, but 100% worth it. They have vegetarian options, too. The best advice I can tell you is just go. Don’t sleep on this if you love great authentic Mexican food. The restaurant and food will speak for itself. You will not be sorry. I am glad to have this little gem near me as a restaurant.

Yum yum! On Sundays you’ll want to come by early. The salsa is delicious, chips are hot, and the enchiladas are smothered in delectable sauce. Seating was quick, service was really good and we left completely stuffed. The prices were affordable too.

I was so excited to eat here after tasting a sample of their food during the “Taste of Derby” event, and finally got the chance to. The pros include, fantastic service (Saturday evening), including a friendly hostess and waitress, delicious beef nachos and queso dip. Cons: the prices are a bit high for the quality of food, and I think I got food poisoning from the shrimp taco, which was otherwise underwhelming. I was terribly sick the next day (my 1st Mother’s Day) and the only thing I can pin it to is the shrimp, which was the only thing my husband didn’t try. He was fine afterwards, and maybe it’s because I don’t eat a lot of Mexican food, so I’m not used to it, but it was awful. Because of this, I wouldn’t go back. The beef nachos at the Taste of Derby were fantastic, so I’d say try at your own risk. We ordered the queso with chorizo (which came with so little chorizo it was hard to justify the $2-$3 additional fee for it, the Tour of Mexico sampler, and a shrimp taco. Nothing was all that impressive or memorable, except of course, the shrimp
