Place was pretty empty so we had our choice of seats. Started filling up though quickly. Service was great even with only 2 waiters. Figured the food was going to be typical Hispanic food. Pleasantly surprised. Food was amazing. Obviously all freshly prepared in house. The shredded beef burrito I had was honestly the best I’ve ever tasted. I would strongly recommend this restaurant and when I come back through I’ll be sure to stop again.

Nice atmosphere and good music, the staff was really friendly. I ordered the steak jalesco and was not disappointed, the t-bone was tender and cooked just right and the shrimp added the perfect touch to the plate. I will definitely eat here again if ever back in town for any reason and will recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to dine.

Great food, poor service when busy. We were there on RAGBRAI Day in Anamosa. As expected, it was very busy with many hungry cyclists looking to refuel and replenish after a long day on the bike. We were sat outside by a server quickly, within only a few minutes. We were the first group to be seated outside. He took our drink order quickly as well and said he’d bring chips and salsa out. The margaritas we ordered came out in about ten minutes, but no chips and salsa and no food order. After waiting another 40 minutes my wife went in to ask if she could get some chips and salsa and was given some to bring back out for our table. We promptly ate the one basket of chips and salsa between 6 people. Wife and friend went back in and got another two baskets. This time another server asked where we were sitting and was told we were sitting outside on their patio. The server stated we don’t see people on the patio. My wife and friend told her well another server did seat us on the patio, we don’t work here. She said this is why we don’t seat people on the patio. Shortly after this the server came out to take our food order. We placed our order and requested another round of margaritas which came out quicker this time, and the rice sides for those that ordered entrees came out quickly as well. The rest of the food took 30 to 35 minutes to come out which is long but not ridiculous given how busy the restaurant was. When the food came it was actually really good. They did forget the rice and beans side order that my daughter ordered. At this point we weren’t going to wait any longer so I shared my food with her. So fully understand that this is likely the busiest day that they’ve had in a very long time but service was definitely not up to snuff. But again the food was great and also the margaritas were very tasty and reasonably priced. We would like to come here again when it is a more normal day and not expected to be so busy. We have been there twice, probably won’t go back unless it is for margaritas. Slow service & mediocre food don’t make this place worth it. The 1st time they got my order wrong. 2nd time it took almost 10 minutes for drinks (Pepsi & mt dew) and one of the staff members was too busy getting some young girls’ numbers to bother with tables. Both visits there were less than 10 tables occupied. Will make the trip to CR to Los Compadres to get great service and great food.

Place was horrible. Never seen a Queso dip so runny and had the consistency of water. The salsa had zero flavor. The pork burrito was under seasoned as I had to add salt just to taste something. The burrito shell was soggy as the red sauce that was poured on it was pretty much just watered down salsa. The service was pathetic. There were 5 of us and we were never offered refills. One person didn’t get their shells for fajitas for over 10 minutes. We didn’t get our check and had to go up to the counter to get it just so we could leave. I’m from out of town on training. Would never go here again.
