What a hidden gem for delicious Mexican food! We had visited their food truck about a year ago when they were at South Farms Pasture, and they impressed us again at their restaurant. There’s so many authentic choices, and everything we had was so flavorful. Even the drinks were fantastic! Our server, Maya, was friendly and attentive. It’s so cozy inside and it had an overall welcoming vibe. Some of the best Mexican food we’ve had in Litchfield county, and we’ll definitely be back!

Review: La Guerra Cantina and Food Truck
La Guerra Cantina and Food Truck offers a solid Mexican dining experience that hits the spot for a quick and satisfying meal. We visited the physical cantina location and found the atmosphere pleasant, featuring decent interior and outdoor seating options, perfect for a casual lunch or evening out.
The first thing that stood out was the efficiency—service was fast, with our appetizers and entrees arriving quickly after ordering.
We started with the classics: the Guacamole and Queso dip. The guacamole was fresh and creamy, and the queso was warm and satisfying. For the mains, we sampled the Chicken Tacos and the signature Mole Enchiladas.
Overall, the food was good, delivering on portion size and freshness. However, this is where the main critique comes in: the dishes, while enjoyable, lacked levels of flavor. Many of the items, including the chicken tacos, were somewhat flat, needing a punch of citrus, heat, or deep savory notes to elevate them from good to great.
The clear exception to this was the Mole Enchiladas. The mole sauce was good—it had a nice balance of sweetness and spice, demonstrating the complex layering of flavor that the other dishes seemed to miss. It saved the meal from being merely adequate and is definitely the must-try item on the menu.
Verdict: La Guerra is a reliable choice when you need good, quick Mexican food, especially if you prioritize fast service and enjoy casual seating.

Been here 4 times and it’s absolutely the best Mexican around. The ceviches are so fresh and huge. Taco selection is so good and the margaritas are 2nd to none. Wait staff and the owner are also outstanding.

Just had one of the freshest and most authentic Mexican meals ever! We stopped in to give it a try and we will be returning on a regular basis. The owner, Cecilio, as well as the entire staff, were all welcoming and attentive and clearly proud of their restaurant and their food as they should be. Can’t wait to visit again.

Authentic Mexican cuisine along with a few other options such as NY strip and chicken sandwiches as part of their Summer specials menu. Will definitely eat here again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

La Güera Cantina & Food Truck is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with vibrant energy and warm hospitality. Every bite—whether it’s the juicy carne asada tacos, rich el pastor, or creamy guacamole—is incredibly flavorful and authentically Mexican. Everything is homemade, fresh, and flavorful. Don’t miss out of their margaritas—especially the jalapeño—pure bliss!

Service is quick, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere is laid-back and fun, whether you dine inside the cantina or grab your meal from the food truck. Prices are more than fair for the quality you get. This place is a must-visit for any fan of real Mexican cuisine—the best outside of Mexico Be sure to say hello to Cicleo the restaurant owner who will be working hard to make dinning experience enjoyable.

I can’t lie, the food is good enough for me to come back. However, the first time I ever went, they either forgot about my food and just didn’t serve it to me after I reminded them about my other food item. Never had that happen when I’ve gone out to eat before? There were also lots of flies for some reason? Like too many to ignore? But besides that, the food is good, the decor is cute, the music is good. Tiramisu is to DIEEE FOORRRR . Delicious!!! Not great for big groups of people to go out to eat. Great date spot though!!

I drove 1hr to try this Mexican restaurant. The location is ideal. Plenty of parking in the lot. The environment is welcoming. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Food is authentic Mexican. The best in Connecticut. This place is a gem. Ordered birria tacos and a chickem burrito. Came with Tortilla and salsa. Food was quality and filling. The Tres leches cake was the richest I ever tasted. Highly recommend.
