La Gran is a family favorite, and we visit often. Mexican food is my favorite, and I love everything about this place—the atmosphere, the food, and the people who work there. It’s also one of those spots where you’re guaranteed to see so many familiar faces from our area.

I have been eating at La Gran Fiesta since 2005 and have always enjoyed the food and the service very much. Until just recently, that is. Shortly before Christmas, I was there for lunch with my office and ordered my favorite dish – Roy’s Special. Last night, I picked up a to-go order that included my mother’s favorite dish — chicken enchiladas. In both cases, something appears to have happened to the sauce recipe. The sauce is very different than what it has been for the prior 20 years. It is thicker, spicier, weirdly colored ( a very dark red-brown) and tasted nothing like the dishes that we have loved for two decades.
Our challenge now is to find out what dishes have this new sauce so that we can avoid them at all cost.

I follow them on IG and decided to go there just from their post. My waitress was really nice, the foot was good and they have all day happy hour on Saturdays. Already planning another trip with my girlfriends.

Food is good, but service isnt great at all. The hostess is nice and prompt but once they sit you it’s the issue. You sit and wait for around 10 or so minutes to get your drink order and then another 5-10 to get your drink, salsa and chips. Then another 5-10 to get your food ordered. The food itself is great. But once you get your food, you’re on your own, can’t get anyone to help with napkins or sides of anything. Probably won’t come back because of the service being constantly bad, despite the food being great.

Love this place down! Everything is seasoned perfectly, great portions , amazing drinks! I just moved to Hoover but will take the drive here whenever I have a taste for GREAT Mexican food!

Food has been great except for my last order. ordered online 45 minutes before arrival. They accidentally gave my order to someone else. I worked in restaurants, so it happens, no problem. So they made my food what I thought was fresh. It made me sick. Glad I only ate half.

First time coming here. The salsa was great so we ordered queso and it was just as good! We ordered the pina fiesta it took what seemed like 25-30 minutes to come out so that was frustrating knowing not a lot of people were in here. I also would probably order all chicken next time though cause I didn’t get a lot of it.
