Review written 9/22/2025. Delicious garlic bread. Best I’ve ever had.

Drive up window if you call to order ahead.

Very friendly and professional service.

Went there 1/5/25 to have a late lunch. Ordered 3 Torpedos for $28 and a Italian beef. It was the worsted sub ever. Very little meat and American cheese and little lettuce. The beef was also minimum shredded roast beef no cooked peppers and some cheese. Again the worst I have ever had. The fellow just complained about being taxed on tips. ISU kids beware.

I think this place is such a gem! One of my favorite traditions growing up was stopping for a torpedo and garlic bread when we drove through Chillicothe. The bread is so good! The atmosphere at this location is especially warm and nostalgic!

Having lived out east for 9 years, it’s been nearly a decade since I’ve had a torpedo.
Mind you, I had a dream about going to the LaGondola near my house from childhood a few weeks ago and had an incessant need for a torpedo ever since.

Move over Avanti’s, this is the taste of childhood. The torpedo- ham, salami, American cheese and sprinkles of shredded iceberg, just as I remember, but the bread was even softer than I thought. Maybe it’s a better quality, maybe it’s the modernization I didn’t know I needed.

And the garlic bread- get a loaf, a ladle of the red sauce and call it a day. Dip that loaf, heck, spoon the sauce onto the blackened sweet butter slices of garlic goodness and get your sweet fix.

I have Italian restaurants out the wazoo where I live, but no one does it like LaG, the OG.

This place was so good we came here twice. The first time we had the all you can eat spaghetti.. we couldn’t even finish our huge 1st portion! The 2nd time we ordered a dinner to go with garlic bread to share, which was the perfect portion for the two of us! The service is very friendly and fast and of course the spaghetti was delicious!!

We went for all you can eat spaghetti tonight and it was amazing! Only $6.75 per person and you get a generous plate of pasta with meat sauce, Alfredo (for a $1 up charge), or meat-free marinara for vegetarians. Each plate came with sweet Italian bread as well. We all enjoyed our food and didn’t even get a refill as the first serving was enough!
The staff was friendly and helpful, the service was quick, and the restaurant was clean. We will come back for sure!

Went for all you can eat spaghetti night. I was told the Alfredo is good, so disappointed that it is no longer offered as part of the All You Can Eat promo on Tuesday and Fridays. For $6.09 it is a good amount of food however you get what you pay for. The meat sauce barely had meat in it and tasted like canned pasta sauce. It didn’t have a lot of flavor or spice but it was like food service grade pasta sauce. I was excited to get bread and hoping that the foil wrapped bread was warm /toasted/garlic bread but no, it was just the bread they use for sandwiches cut in half. The young lady working the register was nice enough but there were definitely some workers with attitude when my dining partner asked for more spaghetti & bread. Had the monster cookie for dessert and that was most enjoyable thing about the visit. Decor was outdated and a bit run down but that is always a challenge for local businesses. This is a cheap place to take your family to eat and load up on carbs. Lots of single use plastic and Styrofoam plates.
