My husband and I came in for dinner but we did not realize that each person must order at least 2 courses. That is very hard for me because I’m unable to eat that much. I asked for my main dish to be boxed as take away and it was not, instead it was thrown away. I barely eat any of it. Besides that portion of our experience, the food was alright. I ordered the escargot and lamb. The flavors were very good, but the beans in the lamb dish were hard, grainy, semi-uncooked. My husband ordered the salmon and the baba rum cake. Both were really good.

We had a wonderful experience here. From the moment we walked in the door, every member of staff greeted us. We loved the good: The shrimp were fresh and tasty, the main courses of duck and lamb were excellent and I enjoyed the crème brûlée. All throughout the meal the staff were attentive and friendly. A lovely evening!

I got the duck confit which was really good. My son got the mussels, it was ok but would have been better with some butter or sauce. He really enjoyed the foiegras. My daughter in law got the lamb and thought it was ok and needed more sauce. She thought the escargot was good. My husband got the lamb also and the shrimp starter. Everyone liked my dinner the best. I also got the French onion soup starter that was good.

It was very busy on Thursday I visited. Too crowded to enjoy my food but I guess that’s how French restaurants are.

Anyway, food was great. We ordered a course menu which came with 2 plates; appetizers and entree. I picked flies shrimp was just okay but Escargot was not really good. It’s not fresh and smelly. I had escargot before but nothing like this. For entree, we ordered fish and lamp. They were really good I would recommend these two. Very tasty with a good portion. So spent total €120 for 2 meal course + a bottle of water + a bottle of white wine. It’s not bad at all. I would return but not for escargot.

La Gauloise is a true Parisian classic — elegant, welcoming, and full of timeless charm. The atmosphere feels refined yet relaxed, with warm lighting and perfectly set tables that invite you to linger. The cuisine is beautifully executed: traditional French dishes prepared with precision, fresh ingredients, and rich, balanced flavors. Service is impeccable — attentive without being intrusive — and the wine list offers excellent pairings. It’s the kind of restaurant that makes you fall in love with French dining all over again.

The French onion soup was full of onion but no enough soup base and the cheese on top wasn’t melted. The roasted duck leg skin was very crispy but the meat is a little bit over cooked and the seasoning was too salty for me. It good to pair with red wine with the strong favour main dish. The service was good and the staffs are very professional.

The mains here was pretty average, pasta was overcooked, chicken in the Coq au vin was also overcooked…BUT the surprise was the Crepe Suzette. It was served the traditional way – table-side with the whole show, burning off the alcohol in the sauce and everything. The taste and texture of the whole dish was so on-point I would come back just for this.

Nice “traditional” french restaurant. Great and pleasant decor. Good mix of locals and tourists. Our food was good but felt like both starters (onion soup) and mains (duck) could be a bit warmer. Great selection of wines and good recommendations to accompany the food. Was not impressed with the “kids menu” dish that we picked (chicken and mash) as chicken was deep fried and the crust was too hard for a 4 year old. She still ate a bit but not as much as she usually would. Ice-cream was great for her in the end. Overall nice experience.
