Reviews
I was later invited to visit La Foresta Restaurant & Wine Bar and had the opportunity to go this past week.We tried the well-known Seafood Tower and it was simply fantastic. It was a great experience and I will definitely return.
I started with the Arugula Salad and Eggplant Rollatini, both very good. For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, well portioned and flavorful. I also had an Espresso Martini, which was very well made.
The atmosphere is welcoming and the service was polite and efficient.
It was a good experience and I plan to return.
I started with the Crab Cake, well prepared and tasty. Then I ordered the Fish Zuppa, which was hot, well served and with great flavor. To finish, I chose the Brownie for dessert, which was very good.
I accompanied the meal with a Montepulciano wine, which went very well with the dishes. I will be back soon. Frank, thank you for your kindness.
When we arrived, there were about 10 people crowded at the entrance with no hostess in sight for at least 10 minutes. When someone finally came out, there was no welcome, no apology for the wait — just a rude, visibly irritated attitude.
We were seated and informed it was a $95 per person prix-fixe three-course menu. Fine — we expected a premium experience for a premium price.
We waited an hour just for our appetizers. We ordered the “spicy meatballs,” which weren’t even remotely spicy. For something that simple — and after waiting that long — the quality was extremely disappointing. Honestly, the appetizers were underwhelming at best.
We then waited for our entrées. And waited. And waited.
Every 15 minutes we were told, “It’ll be right out” and “The kitchen is backed up.” Meanwhile, we watched tables who arrived 30 minutes after us receive their entrées before we did. Around us, multiple tables were openly complaining to one another.
After nearly three hours, we realized our entrées were never coming. We eventually left — along with several other tables doing the same.
To make matters worse, we could hear yelling coming from the kitchen and even glass breaking. It was obvious there was chaos behind the scenes. The entire dining room felt tense and frustrated. No one looked like they wanted to be there — staff included.
For $95 per person, you expect organization, professionalism, and at minimum the food you ordered.
Instead, our Valentine’s Day was completely ruined.
I understand restaurants can get busy on holidays. But this wasn’t “busy.” This was mismanaged, chaotic, and handled poorly from start to finish. There was no communication, no accountability, and no effort to make it right.
Extremely disappointing experience.
The food was fantastic, great selections to the point where almost every item on the menu was something you wanted to eat.
The private room we were in was perfect for the size group that we had and allowed us to enjoy our own conversations without all of the other patrons listening in or overpowering us.
The service was good The waitress was a little overwhelmed I really think probably two people might have been better on this size party but with just one there was a little bit of delay at times and some confusion.
The waitress was personable and did a great job handling this large party.
Anyways, from the bottom of my heart, please eat anywhere else. This is not worth the $! It is wayyyy too expensive for what it is!!!!!
Beautifully decorated, new wine deck looks like fun in warmer weather. Emblazoned on the side is #savewaterdrinkwine…
We were there in time for “Happy Hour” – 12-6PM M-Th, half price appetizers. Great way to try a number of dishes!
Tacos (carne asada and gamaron) were just okay… tortillas were somewhat chalky, and thin, they use two…
Calamari was excellent, marinara sauce went well. Fresh tasting, large serving bowl…
Fried bacon-wrapped mozz was a first, very tasty
Stuffed zucchini blossoms were a pleasant surprise, figured them to be out of season…
I didn’t try the dessert but the creme brulee and tiramisu looked good…
Three of us ate (with one cocktail) for $100 plus tip – a good deal with the half price offer…
Will have to try the flaming cheese round pasta for two next time…
