It’s small and out of the way. We were the only anglos there, but the waitress spoke English and understood our bad Spanish. I asked for water sin gas, meaning not seltzer, and got a large glass of cold tap water with ice, no charge, and no plastic waste.

Have been coming to la fondita for tacos for years. The food here is consistently reliable and delicious. The tacos (steak, al pastor, spicy pork, etc) have always been delicious and reasonably priced. The quesadilla with its fried crust is also quite good.

Very good authentic Mexican restaurant. The portions are large and the flavors are delicious. They have all the classic dishes too. Prices are reasonable and the service is very good. It’s a small place and can get crowded during the lunch rush. You won’t be dissapointed!

We used to frequent La Fondita and for the most part always enjoyed the food, but never appreciated how we were treated. We put up with it because we enjoyed the tacos and the convenience of grabbing dinner to go during a busy week. After being treated so poorly this last time around and the food being less than mediocre we will never be back.

Spectacular soups, excellent tostadas. Wonderful salsas and tortillas. Great tiny spot that does a huge carry out business. This is the best of the Hyattsville Mexican spots in my opinion.
