La Fogata was an excellent experience, our server Leslie was amazing and so was all the rest of the staff on hand.
We both got a cheese dip along with an entree each (one being a combo) for $60! Great size for the meals as well!
Loved the outside dinning, that was our first time out there but not our first time in.

Seated quickly, great lively atmosphere but not so much where you cant enjoy your conversation! Food is always coming out shortly after ordering. The complimentary chips and salsa are a delicious perk. So many great options on the menu and fun drinks! Highly recommend!!!

Tonight was my family and I’s first time here. Service was fast and friendly. Food was phenomenal and the drinks were too. We went for taco Tuesday, you can’t beat $1.99 a taco! We got the chicken and beef tacos. I would rate them a 10/10! My partner got a Raspberry Daiquiri which was a solid 9/10 and I got a Mexican mule which was a 8.5/10 (a little strong for my personal taste, which isn’t bad for the price!) which were $12.50 a piece! Overall our experience was amazing and we will be coming again!
I would say however, it might be a little harder for those with mobility aids to get around in here. It’s a smaller space and they utilize it the best they can.

My husband & I love this restaurant! Good food & well portioned, yummy drinks, I have tried a variety of different foods & their ingredients are hot & fresh! (I am incredibly picky with my lettuce & produce & zero complaints!) I am obsessed with their Mazapan treat as well. The staff is also very nice & accommodating. Do recommend!

We ordered the queso fundido, dinner special (2 plates!) and taquitos ahogdos. All of the food was excellent. Service started out badly as the server got drinks & orders from tables that arrived after us. I quickly realized they were very busy and had only 2 servers. He more than made up for it throughout our dinner. The atmosphere is very generic but that’s okay.

This is the first restaurant in a very long time that I’m giving 5 stars in every category! My wife and I were passing through Maine from New Brunswick to Ontario (Canada) after visiting family. We will be doing this trip a couple times a year. While driving, we discussed how we’d like to find a spot like her family did where they like to go and look forward to going each year. As my wife googled food places, she came across LA Fogata. Low prices, real food and nice interior. Let’s give it a go!

The food was outstanding! We ordered from the lunch menu that offers a discount from 11am to 3pm. I like to eat a larger amount of food than my wife and for only $9.99 I left satisfied! That doesn’t happen nearly anywhere anymore! The interior was nice, bathroom was clean and smelt very nice, food came out fast which was awesome when we’re committed to a 12 hour trip that day so we can sit down, order, eat and be out in nearly half an hour, that’s huge! We will be returning lunch or not, each time we pass through and we hope to add kids to our order as well! Keep doing what you’re doing guys, loved it, can’t wait to go back! Best place we’ve been to buy far this year. No question.

The food is pretty good here. It’s been made very bland for the local taste and that’s too bad. They should at least have a spicy tomato or green sauce that could be an option for the different dishes. We asked for hot sauce to doctor it up a little bit and they gave us a typical hot sauce and a habanero sauce. Both helped the food with a little kick. The margaritas are okay, I ask for an extra shot of tequila for mine! I’ll be back and enjoy the food again, I’ll just douse it with hot sauce.

La Fogata Mexican Restaurant in Skowhegan is the place to be, in or around town, when you are craving Mexican food. Four of us came here and enjoyed a very nice evening. This place is a gem. Everybody knows it too, judging by how they pack them in there even on a weeknight; a festive atmosphere indeed. Service was friendly and prompt. The margaritas were most excellent. For my meal I had the Carnitas which were cooked perfectly; a light crisp outside and very tender inside. The Burrito La Fogata, Steak Taco Salad, and Burrito Bowl with Chicken, all looked fantastic and were said to be delicious. Highly recommended.

Stopped by La Fogara Mexican Restaurant this evening for Valentines Day with my wife of 41 years. Had the Molcajete diner. Once again my meal was amazing. Hit a home run. Expertly done. Price was right, portions was excellent as well as the service, hostess, cleanliness. And despite be busy our meals arrived very quickly. Highly recommend checking them out if you’ve never eaten there before. Find the business to be an asset to the town of Skowhegan. Plan on a return in the very near future.
