La Fogata is a very traditional restaurant with northern Mexican food. The breakfasts are good and well-served in pleasant surroundings, and it’s frequented by a high-class clientele. However, on this occasion, the waiters weren’t very attentive and got distracted, forgetting to bring us several things we asked for or refilling our coffee. In general is a good option for celebrations and business meetings.

Glad they crossed the border. I don’t know when… lol. But they are here. Same AWESOME cabrito as always, I’ve tried the few in the Valley, and they do not measure up to La Fogata! The price is very very reasonable for the cabrito as well. Service was ok…. not what I was expecting. Environment was a bit noisy for our liking for lunch, but was told the Bar is better/quieter for lunch. Or I’ll do what I always did in Reynosa…… Take it to go! First, and hopefully not my last time coming here! I love LOVE their food, and the recepie did NOT vary, and mant places do! This is a 5 star restaurant, it needs 5 star service, I gave a 3 star, but, it was more like a 2 stars. But, the service WILL NOT keep me from staying away! I’ll be back. This is the ONLY cabrito that my wife will eat! Because it is the BEST!!!

Delicious food. The cabrito en salsa is amazing so are the cabrito tacos. All of their food is delicious. Excellent service as well.

Today my husband and our family celebrated his birthday. However there was another table had a ban playing the music so loud for over an hour. This is not good and it’s disturbance for other customers. The restaurant should consider getting them a private and they can do the band as they want but not in the open dining area. Very disappointed evening for us

This is a new review of the place, the quality of the food has dropped, I always order huevos with chicharrón but now they barely give you any chicharrón (pictures attached are old)and no more gorditas with the breakfast.
The cooks don’t seem to know how to cook eggs properly. I asked for over medium eggs and they were over easy, this has happened multiple times.

I had no choice but to eat what the waiter insisted for me to order.
Everything arrived on different times and not exactly how I order.
Food arrived and left on the tray for some minute so the waiter could attend another table.
Food was getting cold.
Very disappointed.
I had to ask to bring the dessert Cart.
At the end waiter was upset that I only left 5 dollar tip for a 200.00 dollar bill.
I don’t like mediocre service.
I’ll think twice before going back.

Antonio G was a very attentive waiter and very courteous. The food was hot, fresh, and very delicious. Mustard sauce on the medallions that Antonio recommended had good umami flavor. Corn tortillas were soft and fresh. Beans were amazing and perfectly seasoned. Margaritas were on point as well!! The flan was moist and creamy, the best flan ever! Prices are comparable to similar locations, but considering the price of food these days, it was well worth it! We traveled from Corpus Christi just to try the food, and we were not disappointed. We will definitely be back soon!

To say this is one of the classiest places in the Area is an understatement. This restaurant is truly a great place to dine. The food is very delicious, the service and servers are very professional and treat the customers as they would their family. Jean Carlos was our server and he was very helpful with recommendations on the menu and he was great.
