Experience up front- One Star
Dining Service once seated – Five Star
Food – Four Star
Overall 3.5 Stars.
Decided to try this as the wife’s pick for her birthday- first timers. We had a confirmed reservation at 7:45p and checked in at 7:40p. There were a few chairs in the entrance area, of which one was open so my wife sat and held our 2 yr old. 20 minutes in, a staff member arrives and simply asks her to vacate the chair as they needed it. So you take the one chair with the woman and a toddler- classy. The other individuals seated next to her were also appalled and so kindly stood up themselves offering my wife their seats.
A 40 minute wait ensued despite a confirmed reservation. The attendant said it gets busy once it hits 7:30- I get that and that is a great sign for business, but what is the point of even confirming a reservation? We were told a few times a table was nearly ready and just had to be cleaned but the wait continued.
Thankfully by the time we were seated we knew what we wanted to order and after placing the apps- our first selections arrived within minutes. Note- despite the terrible service up front waiting, our server(s) were on their A+ game!
Fried Zucchini- shoestring cut and crispy- dare I say as a french fry lover that these were a wonderful alternative. The kiddos devoured them too.
Burrata – this was a huge hit with the wife and perhaps one of the highlights for her.
Rigatoni spicy vodka sauce- we ordered 2 to share amongst us and one bowl was gone quick. This was perfectly spiced and a hit for all.
Bucatini Cacio e Pepe – this one fell flat. Thank goodness at least our toddler ate some. The other three of us found it way to diluted “watered down” – and muted flavors. The lone miss of the night- food-wise.
If you like sundaes- get the Sundae Royale- enough for 3, maybe 4 to share and be more than satisfied.
Odd note: While the name of the restaurant is Focaccia, the pieces they bring to the table once seated are rubbery and chewy. The other bread included was about an hour from being a crouton.

La Focaccia is an excellent Italian restaurant in Summit and the perfect spot for a cozy, romantic date night. My fiancée and I celebrated New Year’s Eve 2026 here, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. It’s a family-owned gem with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and patient—making us feel taken care of from the moment we walked in. They started us off with complimentary fresh bread, served with garlic and olive oil that was absolutely amazing—honestly, some of the best olive oil I’ve had outside of Barcelona or Rome. For appetizers, we ordered the goat cheese salad, which was beautifully balanced with warm walnuts, arugula, and creamy goat cheese simple, fresh, and perfect.
For our mains, we had the gnocchi and the black spaghetti with seafood, and both dishes were outstanding. The gnocchi was light and tender, while the seafood pasta was flavorful, with just the right mix of freshness and depth.
La Focaccia truly offers a little taste of Italy right in the heart of Summit. We’ll absolutely be coming back and if you’re planning a special night out, you should too. ❤️

We went last Friday, respectfully we showed up before our 8pm reservation and were told it would be 10-15mins. After 25 mins we asked how much longer and were told another 5-10 mins as people were paying there checks. After being told people were lingering and should only be another 5-10 mins, it was near 9pm and they wasted an hour of our time, we had enough and ran to another restaurant to eat. Terrible management in this place, somebody should have proactively had a conversation with us and apologized and told tables they needed to leave as they had reservations waiting for an hour already. Although we had been going here for a while and it was a good place, they have absolutely no care for their customers or how to manage reservations and we will never go back, you lost us as patrons.

I visited this restaurant in hopes of trying a new restaurant and finding a new favorite. I didn’t have the most pleasant experience. The appetizers were good, chose the burrata and crab meat. I did not like the gnochi, as it was too salted and I didn’t enjoy the sauce. The steak was average and not up to the cost. The tiramisu was also underwhelming, as it was mostly cream. It was really loud inside the restaurant, which made it hard to have a conversation and to hear the staff. I also felt they could have been friendlier. Overall I would not go back.

Went to this restaurant for the 1st time for my girlfriend’s birthday and it was excellent! The only reason i gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because when I asked them if I could get my chicken parm dinner with vodka sauce (willing to pay extra) instead of marinara sauce, I was told “NO”. I asked if they had vodka sauce and the waiter replied “yes”…. I really dont feel not willing to accommodate a different sauce is worth the potential of losing future business from a customer. I get this all the time at other Italian restaurants this the first time a restaurant said no. Other than not accommodating, everything was perfect.

My wife and I have been searching for new places for date night and stumbled upon this place when looking for somewhere to dine outside. Besides the food absolutely being stellar, the outside dining makes it feel like you’re transported to a different place rather than dining on the sidewalk. The tables are spaced appropriately so that you don’t feel like you’re too close to each other while still maintaining an intimate feeling. Every course was just the next level up in deliciousness. I started out with the oysters which were huge and delicious. Then for our entrees, my wife had the Lasagna Bolognese and I had the Chicken Parm. We both devoured our meals, the Chicken Parm was awesome and I was able to cut through like butter. Just when we didn’t think things could level up even further, the dessert was on point (totally recommend the iced coffee). The panna cotta was perfect and the brownie sundae that my wife got was scrumptious. Just a heads up, this place is BYOB, but shares a parking lot of a well stocked liquor store. If there isn’t enough parking there, there’s a lot across the street that’s open to the public that’s shared with a school. We’re looking forward to going back here in the future. Currently, they’re very understaffed, but just be prepared to be patient, it’s absolutely worth it.

Absolutely fantastic meal!! Will be going back. We share the fried Brussels sprouts and the Italian hot peppers. For dinner I had the Branzino, my wife got the bolognese and we took the tiramisu and key lime pie to-go for dessert. Delicious! The waiting staff was super on their game and very attentive. I am only docking points on the service because there is some discrepancy on the late policy for reservations between what they tell you in person and what was listed on Resy. Additionally despite having a reservation we still ended up waiting for our table for over 20min past the time. Not a big deal but loses a star for it. And the atmosphere takes a ding because the tables are so close together. Which normally wouldn’t be a problem but because of how packed they are it becomes super loud. Again, none of these issues are a reason to not go and we will def be going back!
