This is my go to Mexican place for good vegetarian Mexican meal! I love their Al achiote vegetarian burrito – it’s spicy and I always order the same. I love it so much!

This place has the best enchiladas Mexicanas! Their salsas are also great – especially if you like spicy salsa, they have a good red salsa. If you like margaritas, they have you covered. They have tons of good marg options. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for good Mexican food in a friendly atmosphere.

A solid Mexican restaurant in old downtown Mountain View that has been around for many years. The food they serve reminds one the old times. Their mama’s special sauce over chicken or enchiladas has a unique combination of tomato sauce, cheese, and spices, very rich and memorable. Chicken soup was homey. Service was attentive. Price is a bit high compared to other Mexican restaurants. We only wish they would serve some vegetables (e.g., lettuce and tomatoes) on the side as many other Mexican restaurants do.

Came here for Valentines Day. It was easy to get a seat for 5. We spotted this while going to our reservation at Don Giovanni downtown. At Don Giovanni they were serving a special expensive menu without pizza (the main reason we went here was my niece loves the cheese pizza here) so we left and returned to La Fiesta. It was a sign spotting it on our way downtown so we returned!

Chips, salsa, and our first round of drinks came quick. I got the skinny margarita since I didn’t want sweet and sour in mine and it was good. Not amazing, but good. We ordered our mains when our drinks arrived. Food came quick.

I got chile Colorado enchiladas with the grandma sauce on top. It was good and hit the spot that night. The grandma sauce is mild and it went really well with the chile Colorado. Other folks got the mole which they really enjoyed. It is a deep rich mole. Next time we go I’ll get that.

I had to dock some stars because our service that night was not very good. Maybe it was because it was Valentine’s Day. It seemed like they were down a server or something. Initial margaritas came quick but we never got the chance to order another round. We were never really checked up on for more drinks.

Overall the food was good but the service was lacking. I enjoyed our meal on Valentines Day and I want to try this spot again so I’ll definitely return and I hope to give this some more stars.

Excellent service and very tasty food. I got grandma’s especial, and although the chicken and sauce is the star, I enjoyed the rice and beans as much. Make sure to ask for a couple of tortillas to mop up the sauce.

It’s nice that it’s not on Castro street. It makes the place feel calmer and more like having dinner at someone’s home.

Coming here for many years. The bean and rice is always a must here. Their tacos are mediocre. The meats are kinda dry with no flavor but everything else like their enchiladas, chile relleno, etc are the best.

It’s definitely just an average restaurant. We went there on a Wednesday night and had to wait for 10 min to be seated. We ordered the vegetarian salad, Grandma’s Especial, the Enchiladas and guacamole. Well, we didn’t like any of them and the guacamole was certainly overpriced for its portion. Overall the service was average too, we had to wait a long time to get our check and our waiter wasn’t that attentive. I don’t recommend this place and don’t think I would go back anytime soon.

Just came back from Mexico City. I went there looking for an authentic culinary experience that wasn’t your typical street taco.
….To tell the truth, I was a bit thrown back. La Fiesta, the spot just down the road that I’ve been going to for years IS that experience. I just didn’t realize it until I was in the heart of Mexico

Great drinks and tons of Margarita variations. I like the Yucatán

I like a lot of the Pollo variations but I usually get Pollo Rajas or the chicken Enchiladas. On the enchiladas I typically ask for them “divorciados” with the Mole sauce and the Grandma’s special sauce or sometimes the Red. I get them “Tampiqueño” (with Steak added) sometimes too. I like to branch out and try new things but the grandmas sauce is just so good, so divorciados allows me to test new things while still getting my fix.
My dad likes the Chile Colorado.

A co-worker recommended this restaurant.
First time there. There was 5 of us… Salsa was super hot! Chips were too too hard. Originally, I ordered a Hard Taco and quesadilla combo plate. My quesadilla was not cooked thru and my crispy taco fell apart at first bite. That was so Disappointing. They offered to make me something else and suggested “Grandmas enchiladas.” It came just as everyone else was done with their food.
My mom, got Flautas. Chicken was white meat but dry, very dry and bland. My sister and her husband got chile verde. It was good to them. My nephew got quesadilla plate. The quesadilla was smothered in quacamole and he is allergic. They made it over. His plate was quickly fixed with a new quesadilla.
Back to my plate… it was ok. The grandma sauce was tasty. The chicken was breast but also dry with not much flavor and overall plate was not warm enough.
Was disappointed to not get a discount even though waiter had said he took off the price of my plate, but that was just the first plate that I DID NOT Eat.
Overall… gave 3 stars since waiter was nice and helpful. Also, the woman (maybe boss / owner) was fast to help us all be happy. Also the water guy gave us water and soda refills.
