Definitely a Place I WILL GO to AGAIN!!
Fast & VERY Friendly Service & they Made Sure They got my order All Correct.
The Meat was Definitely Great! It Wasn’t all Greasey & there wasnt a pound of fatty oil at the bottom of our dish when we had finished. Unlike the other places Ive been to. I definitely recommend LA Estrella Del Northe!!!

The place could use a little cleanup — it’s a small space and feels a bit tight when busy. I came mainly for the barbacoa, but I also tried their sweet bread and tortillas. The sweet bread was actually really good — fresh, soft, and flavorful — and the tortillas were nice and warm.

Unfortunately, the barbacoa itself was pretty bland. It didn’t have much seasoning or salt, and it was served wrapped in foil, which made it messy to handle. The texture was okay, but it lacked that rich flavor you expect from good barbacoa.

If you’re looking for a place that gets everything right — from the barbacoa to the cleanliness and atmosphere — I recommend checking out Maria Lena’s Bakery instead. Their barbacoa is flavorful and perfectly seasoned, the area is clean and spacious, and the whole experience feels more put together.

This spot has potential, but it definitely needs more attention to flavor, presentation, and overall upkeep.

Best tortillas! Freshly made daily. Pick them up hot and can’t help but eating a few on the way home. The color sugar cookies are good too. But not much of a selection of anything else.

Best tortillas in mid-Michigan. Be warned, though: if you get the tortillas at their bakery, they are hot off the press and sold in a plastic bag — so a lot of condensation builds up in the bag. If you are not going straight home with them, leave the bag open so the tortillas don’t get soggy!

i grew up on tortillas hand made by my great aunt. she has gotten older now and only makes them on occasion, thankfully this bakery has absolutely amazing tortillas that put store bought “corporate” tortillas to shame. i live in lansing and buy 5 packs at a time then freeze them, i don’t know what i’d do without this place.
