Delicious food — my friend the had shrimp taco and birria taco, and I had the cheese pupusa. The pupusa came out hot with melty stringy cheesy goodness, the curtido was perfectly crunchy, it was all so good. I had one bite of the birria taco and was really really good. Desserts and drinks look good too, I’ll be back! . Prices are affordable, staff is really kind and welcoming!!!

I’m too full today but I wanted to have some of this flan in the pic

Locale is new, clean, and nicely decorated with mosaic detailing

A must stop spot before or after the train. Some of the best pupusas I’ve had only 5-10min from the Stamford station. The bakery looked amazing too I’ll have to come back for it.

If you’re in Stamford and craving something truly satisfying, you must make your way to La Esquinita Deli Bakery — a hidden gem perched right on the corner of Henry Street and Atlantic Street, just a 5-minute stroll from the Stamford Metro North Station. Don’t let the name fool you — this isn’t just a bakery. It’s a full-on flavor haven that fuses authentic Mexican cuisine, classic American bites, and mouthwatering desserts under one roof.

Let’s start with what hits you first — the aroma. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fresh-baked cookies and flan on one side, and sizzling birria tacos and seasoned home fries on the other. It’s a delicious tug-of-war between sweet and savory, and spoiler alert — you always win no matter what you choose.

The food? Ridiculously good.

Their birria tacos are absolutely loaded — tender, juicy beef folded into crispy tortillas, served with a rich consommé that deserves its own standing ovation. The burritos are hefty, packed, and bursting with well-balanced flavor, and their burgers? Surprisingly impressive — thick patties, fresh toppings, perfectly toasted buns. It’s comfort food done right.

What sets their breakfast menu apart, though, are the home fries — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and infused with their homemade hot sauce that hits all the right notes: smoky, tangy, and just the right amount of heat. It’s the kind of flavor you’ll crave in your sleep.

If you’re into sweets (and who isn’t?), prepare yourself. They’ve got everything from creamy flan, cheesecake, sugar-dusted cookies, to full-blown custom cakes. These aren’t store-bought fillers — these are fresh, made with love, and dangerously addictive.

The vibe inside is welcoming, unpretentious, and friendly — you can feel that it’s family-owned. The owners are incredibly warm and genuinely care about what they serve and how you’re treated.

Payment is easy and modern: they take Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and all contactless payments. And coming soon — you’ll be able to order through DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats, making it even easier to get your fix delivered right to your door.

Bottom line: Whether you’re hopping off the train, grabbing a quick lunch, or hunting down a late-night dessert — La Esquinita Deli Bakery is a one-stop shop for flavor and comfort. You’ll leave full, happy, and planning your next visit.

Don’t skip the hot sauce. Seriously!

BEST LOMO. The Lomo Saltado is addicting, it’s the best consistent one i’ve had. I’ve had their sandwiches and they’re alright; they always switch up the way they make it so I can’t comment on that.
