First of all, best martinis I’ve had at anywhere, ever. Delicious, strong, and made and served with care by a fantastic bartender. Meatballs were some of the best I’ve ever had, the tuna was seared perfectly with a well-paired salad and dressing, and the tiramisu balanced the flavor and creaminess just right. Very relaxed atmosphere for lunch with prompt service and not too long of a wait for the food, just long enough to know it wasn’t premade food being served out.
Definitely planning to go back often and try much more of a very creative and unique menu, including the desserts which, after the tiramisu, I’m dying to try everything available at some point.

My girlfriend and I went here on a Wednesday night for our anniversary. The atmosphere was amazing and the ambient music was perfect. It was also not loud or hard to hear across the table. Our server, Jane, was very personable and extremely kind. She was also very attentive to my allergy. The charcuterie board, duck leg, carbonara, tiramisu, and chocolate hazelnut flute were all absolutely incredible. Everything was very fairly priced and I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!!

A new favorite in the heart of Dover. Run by the owner of Cafe Med fame in Portsmouth, NH. The food is superb and prices are really reasonable for this caliber. The atmosphere is cool jazz, black walls, tall ceilings and tall windows street facing. Acoustics are well managed. There’s bar seating and a mix of high tops, padded bench tables, and regular floor tables. Forgot to mention a collection of comfy sofa-like chairs to sit at with a cocktail.

We love La Dolce Vita in Dover. Every time we visit, the food is amazing and we have yet to have a bad meal. Last night we tried the shrimp scampi appetizer and it was delicious.
Our waitress Erin was incredible and truly made the experience even better. She was so friendly, nice, and bubbly, and helped us choose dessert. The chocolate caramel soufflé was to die for. Amazing food and outstanding service. We will definitely be back.

We were impressed with everything about La Dolce Vita. Service was top notch, food was incredible, and the atmosphere reminds me of the North End. We had no problems making reservations and we found it quite family friendly. I had the Lentil and Carrot soup to start and it was tasty and fresh. The Tuscan Salmon was cooked to perfection and the mushroom/cheese ravioli was delicious. This is a huge welcome addition to Dover’s restaurant lineup. We can’t wait to go back!

Another wonderful experience tonight ( New Years Eve) our server Abby was spectacular, very attentive, personable and great service and personality. The Owner is terrific. Allowed a last minute seating change for myself and guest to sit at the bar instead of a table which we initially reserved. The food.. can’t say enough about the Veal Veal Picatta and homemade bread as well as the Tarimasu .
I am becoming a regular since moving back to Dover. A gem of a dining experience.

This is our second visit here. We went here on New Year’s day. The food is delicious whatever you choose. They start off with homemade bread with dipping oil w/garlic. For an appetizer, we had fried calamari with two dipping sauces. For a drink, I had an espresso martini. I enjoyed veal saltimbocca with penne, my son had veal parmesan with eggplant and pasta and my husband enjoyed veal piccata with mashed potatoes. The portion sizes were very generous. The service was excellent and a beautiful holiday atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are ever in this Dover downtown area.

Came as a table of 6 for a birthday/promotion dinner. The food was fairly good overall but the lack of hospitality was off putting. Normally the food taking a long time doesn’t bother me, but when you’ve barely finished and you’re told you have to leave because another group is waiting, it does bother me. We were not close to lingering but even if we had been isn’t the point of going out to dinner to eat, talk, and enjoy? I wouldn’t mention the dirty glass or the poor seating because it wouldn’t have been that big a deal normally, but I guess that was a precursor to the vibe. Good thing nobody wanted coffee.
