Cheerful colorful ambiance. Plenty of table, booth, wide open seating for big parties. Great recorded music. There’s even a small stage for live performance. We were there on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing live, but little kids were dancing the Hat dance on it. So cute.

FOOD. Mole!! Different types, lots to choose from you get a sample of three signature mole as dollops on top of your chips. Fun way to help you decide, but also the servers are hugely helpful. Food is beautfully and artfully plated, Fiesta for the eyes.
The menu is varied, and you can order a protein like Mahi Mahi or chile relleno, and also choose the type of mole. Notice the grasshopper tacos at tge back of the menu!! Wow, but not today. We decided to share different styles of enchiladas, one stuffed with shredded chicken dipped in their signature dark mole 5/5…the other carne asada, which was the traditional mole polablano 5/5…, but the steak was served whole and alongside, not stuffed. 3/5 the steak was thin and tough, alas. The steak was served with guacamole 5/5…the chicken had white rice (fluffy and surpringly flavorful) 5/5 and fijoles 4/5 (just wanted more).

TIP: DO NOT SKIP DESSERT or the agua frescos. Instead of a rice based horchata, this one is made with roasted pumpkin seeds, delicious and subtle 5/5. The Jamaica also good, not too oooo sweet 5/5.
So glad we ordered the caramel filled churro, it came warm yet crunchy chewy, it was plated like a work of art. See pics.

SERVICE. Jerry is from Texas, so friendly and helpful. He explained hiw he made the horchata with the pumpkin seeds, we had to try. And he said the restaurant had only been open about 8 months, and that the original in Bellflower, going on 11 years. Great service from Jerry. Lovely teamwork from all the servers on hand.
Welcome to the neighborhood!! We definitely will be back to try other items.

Highly Recommend!!

The food was delicious. We started with the queso fundido. I had enchiladas de mole (cheese), my husband had the chicken Parilla, and my mom the enchiladas de mole (chicken). I have to say the chicken enchiladas were so much better. The handmade tortillas reqlly surprised me too. I’d definitely go back. It was a bit lonely the night we went, but the service was great.

This is probably the best spot I’ve had for mole. A solid selection of food with a comfortable atmosphere.

I started off with their cafe de olla, a little mole sampler on chip’s which was also great , their esquite was excellent & their ribeye was top notch. I’ve tried other menu items, they were also flavorful and delicious. Overall it was an excellent lunch spot. Try their champurado & chile relleno also!

I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.

Very good and fresh authentic mole. I have the elotes and mole poblano enchiladas. The mole reminds me the one I had in Puebla: sweet but not too sweet, with the fragrant aromas. I will be back to try the other dishes.

We have been customers of the Bell Gardens location for over ten years and were pleased to learn about this new location!
I was all ready to enjoy my two favorite things…Chile enogada and limonada con pepino. Surprise!!! Neither of my faves are available here
I do enjoy the mole however and had the pork chop with Coloradito. Spicy and delicious!!
My husband had is favorite…enmoladas!
Food was excellent as usual and the service was attentive.

Wow the atmosphere is beautiful. The staff and the music is so welcoming. I went for take out but will definitely dine in. I got a oaxaqueno mole with chicken. So much flavor . The mole is fresh nothing compared to doña maria . I also got an horchata, so glad I got it. It reminds me of the flavor profile of black sesame ice cream. Must have. What a gem here in MPK.

My husband and I were in the area and we were hungry. My husband wanted El Tepeyac… when we pulled up, we realized that it was a new restaurant. We decided to give it a try and I’m glad we did (I don’t like El Tepeyac). We both agreed that this is the BEST mole we have had. It is hard to receive both delicious food and a beautiful presentation. Our plates were put together well and tasted absolutely delicious and the temperature was perfect. The waitress was kind. We live two hours away. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
