The interior is stunning and thoughtfully chaotic in a way that works: exposed beams, hanging lanterns and star lights, rich colors, Frida-inspired art, mismatched tables, velvet chairs, communal seating, tucked-away corners, and rooms that feel like they were meant for lingering conversations. Every turn gives you something new to look at, whether it’s a massive art installation overhead, a wall of wine, or a cozy lounge setup that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.
Food-wise, tapas and paella are the stars here. This is the kind of menu that encourages sharing, ordering a few things, sipping wine, and letting the night unfold. The chalkboard sign lets you know what they’re proud of—and it shows. Pair that with their wine selection and you’re set.
There’s also live music on certain nights, which fits the space perfectly. After a certain hour it shifts into a 21+ vibe, and it truly feels like the place comes alive in the evening—dim lighting, music, conversation, and that intimate, almost transportive energy.
La Diosa isn’t rushed, flashy, or trying to be trendy. It’s warm, artistic, and unapologetically itself. Come here when you want an experience, not just a meal. It’s ideal for a date night, a long catch-up with friends, or anyone who appreciates atmosphere just as much as what’s on the table.
We loved the small bites concept. I confess when I looked at the price of the food, I assumed there was no way it was going to be REALLY good. But it was amazing.
Thanks to Steven for the great service and education on the menu. If you’re not going here, you’re totally missing out..
We tried a variety of dishes and drinks—standouts included the sparkling sangrias (refreshing and not too sweet), the flatbread (fresh, with lots of basil and tomato), and the Angelina and Lorena tapas, both full of flavor and beautifully presented. Portions were generous—perfect for sharing and making the meal feel like a real experience.
The empanadas were a table favorite, and the starters came out quickly. We also loved that there was live music, with an acoustic set that made conversation easy while still setting the mood.
Prices are fair for the quality, and the small cover charge for music is absolutely worth it for the atmosphere. This is a must-visit spot if you like a relaxed, unique setting with creative food and drinks—perfect for a fun night out in Lubbock!
Bad- The cake fee of $10 and the credit card fee of 3 1/2% was a little ridiculous on top of the food being way overpriced for the quantity and taste. Our server was terrible. Zero personality, didn’t do anything unless we asked (more water, clear table, plates and forks for cake), had to be reminded of dishes we ordered. I don’t recommend this place for a special occasion. We went for my daughter’s birthday. They did nothing to make it special and penalized us for bringing a cake. No mention of that when I called or on arrival. We went to Funky Door last year and had a totally different experience. Should’ve gone back.
Im not a fan of expensive restaurants in my opinion they are more for show, making the food pretty vs the food being unique & delicious but this place THIS PLACE! Is worth every single penny. We had a queso dip I can’t remember the name (not pictured) and it sent my taste buds into a frenzy as soon as this deliciousness grazed my tongue. Have you ever had food that made you break out in a smile because it’s eye rolling good? That’s exactly what this queso did. It was only up from here too. We had the Barcelona pizza and it is unlike any pizza you’ll taste anywhere else in LBK. We also had their special I can’t remember what it was called but it came with saffron rice, shrimp and lamb.. the lamb was . And as if this all was not enough the lighting & art were a whole vibe. Our waiter I can’t remember his name (tall guy with long hair and a beard) but he’s been my waiter every time I’ve gone and he’s always so helpful, patient and willing to explain/help you with the menu especially the first time you go bc the menu is different than your typical restaurant in lbk and he never makes you feel silly for not understanding it or having questions. Absolutely love this place.
