TL;DR: La Di Da is real New York style, with thin, crispy crust cooked right on the stone, quality ingredients, and hand-made imperfections that make for an authentic taste and feel.

This place is my new favorite Pizza in the greater Burlington area–if you can get it fresh and hot, it’s fantastic NY-style pizza. I say that as someone who grew up working in my NY family’s Italian restaurants, but allow me to elaborate with a short narrative and description…

I ordered the pizza and was told it would be 25 minutes. I arrived early because I wasn’t sure where exactly the place was, but also because I wanted to check it out. I was early, and the pizza was right on time–it came out one minute before they said it would, which is perfect timing.

The crust is flavorful, with just the right amount of salt in the dough to make it actually taste like something instead of nothing, but not so much that it actually tastes salty. The bottom crust is thin and crispy, with just a bit of char from the stone. The outside crust is thicker and chewier, and maybe a hair over how I prefer it, but otherwise very well done. It’s also sprinkled with cheese (I didn’t ask if it was Reggiano, but it tasted like real cheese and I watched them grate it fresh in front of me). And here’s a test you can run on your own: pick up a slice of pizza. Does it collapse? Can you hear the sound of the crispy crust as it crunches between your fingers? This place passes all those tests and more with flying colors.

The sauce is also good–not too sweet, not too salty, but a great balance and evenly applied. Since the crust is so thin on bottom, you don’t want a ton of sauce weighing down the slice–and they nailed it. Just enough to taste it, but not enough to overpower the structure.

The Mozzarella was good as well, and I can tell you from experience that a lot of places will save money buying the cheap cheese. I ordered my customary Pepperoni, Broccoli, Extra cheese, and they had a good balance. There was a ton of ‘roni, which is great. They might have pushed the cheese towards the outside crust a bit more (since when cheese melts its essentially a liquid and tends to run towards the center of the pie) but overall it was very good.

The toppings were fresh and delicious, and worthy of praise. The atmosphere is a bit industrial, but they do their best to spruce it up with friendly faces and a few decorations. I’d have liked a Cannoli or maybe Tiramisu, but that’s a lot to ask from such a small kitchen, and anyway I’m not reviewing things that aren’t there. The service was excellent, and the employees seemed happy, which is nice.

Side note: I actually ordered a whole pizza, but I’m only including the photos of the slices I took from it, because the owner didn’t like the way it looked enough to have the algorithm have its way. I thought it looked good, but fair enough, and anyway you can see what the pizza looks like pretty well from the slices. If there’s enough demand, I’ll post the whole pie photos.

The place seems kid friendly, and I would not hesitate to bring mine next time.

The only real downside is the cost. I know prices are up everywhere, and that current economic conditions make running a place that sells food incredibly difficult, but I also know I can’t afford to pay 45 dollars for a pizza very often, even if it is the best one I’ve had in a long time.

That said, I’ll save up for next time, because I do feel like, of all the places to get a pie in VT, this one is absolutely worth it. And I will also say this: I ate a third piece in the car on the way back to work, it was that good.

Overall, I give this pizza experience a 9.5/10, and would highly recommend.

You can tell how good it is just by looking at it. We have great pizza in Burlington, and this just adds to it. We’ve been lacking a higher-quality New York style pizza spot, and this is it. The team at La Di Da is kind and hardworking, and the za is well worth it. We asked for it well done, with a little char on the bottom. Just as ordered. The crust has a nice balance between chew and crunch. Order a pie to go, grab a drink at Gold while you wait, then be the popular one at home when you arrive with this piece of art.

Got a regular and Gemini. Pictured is the regular. Regular is my comparison slice. Overall not bad, but wasn’t a fan of whatever red sauce they used. Otherwise excellent undercarriage and thin, why is my preference. The Gemini was much better. Def on the pricier side though. Two slices and cookie came out to $15 and change before tip.

Absolutely adore La Di Da Pizza. The staff is incredibly upbeat and always delighted to see each customer. Creative options, crust is perfectly seasoned (and fluffy), sauce is amazing. Love that they cover the whole pizza with freshly grated parm – oh and did i mention the pies are MASSIVE?! Barely fits in the box, easily enough for four people. Highly recommend.

Like many college towns there a many average pizza places here, but this is the real deal!!! Crust is thin and crispy, but also airy. One of the best slices I have ever had. Serving slices means you can try several kinds. Don’t settle for a average when you have this place to go to.
Google maps takes you to the back parking lot, walk around to the front (seee photo). Back door of building is locked.

OMG. Just had our first pizza, take out, from La di da. It was incredible! Four of us munching, and the only sound heard was “mmmmm” and nothing else. The crust was to die for. Thin and light, yet not too thin. You could still fold it and it wouldn’t crack. Toppings – we had half cheese and half chimichurri. Both were equally delicious – not possible to pick a favorite! Welcome to the neighborhood – SO happy you are here!! We will definitely be back.
