Some family friends introduced us to La Cueva and this has become one of our family’s favorite restaurants. Our girls love the Cheese Quesadilla, Bean and Cheese Burrito and the Kids Nachos (nachos covered with refried beans and cheese). My wife and I have had the Shrimp Burrito, Cheese Enchilada, Chicken Enchilada, and the Carnitas platter. All have been really good with great flavor. Regarding the Carnitas, they cook it perfectly so that there is a slight crispness on the outside yet moist on the inside. The star of the show is their green sauce. It has got the perfect balance of heat and flavor. It goes well with all the dishes we have ordered and I found myself putting on other things that I cook at home. You also get a bag of tortilla chips with your order.
This is a family owned business and their customer service is fantastic. Our food is always ready when they say. One thing to be aware of is that they get busy on Fridays so it might be hard to get through on the phone. But keep trying, it’s well worth it. Once you try their food you will be hooked. I highly recommend them!!!

The finest Mexican place for vegetarians!! Their rice is not made with chicken broth so it’s vegetarian. We tried wet and normal burrito and both were delicious. Service was quick, food was delicious. You get first serving of chips for free, salsa verde was delicious. A must stop for vegetarians!!

Tried this place recently and was happy to see lots of vegetarian options. I went with the vegetarian burrito and really enjoyed it. It had a flavorful filling, crispy tortilla, and a mango salsa inside that added some tang. The chips on the side were fresh, and the green salsa had a distinct sting to it.
Staff was friendly, food came out fast, and the space was clean. Plenty of indoor booth seating but had minimal outdoor seating. Much more functional than atmospheric as it had minimal decor. Solid food and quick service, I’d definitely come back and would recommend it to others looking for a casual bite.

We have had several great experiences at La Cueva! The tacos are amazing (the right amount of spice!) and our kids have enjoyed the burritos and quesadillas. It’s reasonably priced with good service.

The green salsa is herby and fresh, not spicy at all! Dessert is pretty good but tres-lechés is always a sugary heart attack. One of the best in San Jose!

Amazing casual dining spot hidden at the back of a parking lot. I’ve been here quite a few times and have never had a bad experience. I usually get a steak burrito, wet style, but everything on the menu is great. Limited seating, but we’ve always managed to get a table.

Randomly stopped in this place while in the area for work and it was an awesome surprise. Excellent fresh Mexican food. The green salsa is unique and flavorful and it comes on the side. I had the carnitas which were delicious and filling. Definitely will come back next time I’m in the neighborhood.

I’ve been a loyal customer here since 2016, and I’ve always had a fantastic time. The wet chicken burrito is truly the best in the area. In my opinion, I’ve never had a better green salsa anywhere.
