I will say…as someone from California, this is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever tasted. To start, the chicken tacos I received contained shredded chicken (like Costco chicken) which I’ve NEVER seen in an authentic chicken taco. It looked like something from Del Taco, except bigger and more tasteless. (The fact that ground beef is a taco filling should be a red flag in itself). This restaurant is catered to white people, as in it’s very Americanized Mexican food. (I would still rather go to Taco Bell). As for the chile relleno, it was poorly cooked and everything else felt pretty lazy and underwhelming in presentation as well as taste. The refried beans seemed like they were heated from a can and the chimichanga included the same Costco chicken-like filling. Overall, disappointing. I would be embarrassed to invite my Mexican buddies here, especially with the outrageous price of 19 dollars for only two tacos.

Hard to pin down. What is best about this neighborhood? Mexican restaurant with people that remember your name and your order every time you stop by, with food that is abundant and exactly what you are looking for in taste, with the staff willing to flex and not just warmly greet you but revise orders to your liking, to drinks that we make a special journey for, and decor that makes you feel absolutely at home in a little bit of Mexico. We love this place and we love the people.

Food was NOT good. It was microwaved and did not have a good flavor. I ordered an enchilada with a burrito and I couldn’t tell what was what. Both were just a tortilla (with lots of grease) with meat inside, that’s it. The rice was flavorless and the beans tasted burnt. I will say, the complimentary chips + salsa were pretty good. That’s the ONLY reason I’m not giving this place a one-star. Either way, I recommend you DO NOT come here. There’s much better food in other places. There’s definitely better and more authentic Mexican food other places too. Check my profile if you’re still not convinced to not go here, I review a good amount of the places that I go to.

The al pastor tacos where delicious maybe a bit too greasy but that’s nothing some napkins can’t help with.
The green salsa is a bit mild but I wouldn’t prefer to eat the tacos without it.
I was gonna complain about the price being nearly 20 dollars for 3 tacos but I also recieved some chips with my take out order so I guess it kinda evens out

The meats are great – but I’m not sure what they did to the tortillas they put them in – grill too cold? Grease shiny on the street tacos not soft and fluffy like I’d expect

La Corona has the best beans I have ever eaten in my entire life. Mexican food is my favorite food and I get beans at every Mexican restaurant I go to, yet these ones are far superior to others. They are a good consistency that is not too runny but also not whole beans, which I like. They are flavorful and pair perfectly with their rice or chips. I quite literally cannot stop myself from eating them until my stomach hurts. For my birthday last year I got an order of enough beans to feed probably 10 people and it was amazing.
Apart from the beans, La Corona is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the greater Seattle area. Great service, great ambiance, great complementary chips and salsa (and beans), and great portion sizes.
