La Comida Mexican Kitchen and Cocktails offers a unique dining experience with our elevated Tex-Mex classics and Yucatán inspired dishes. From ‘tropical’ ceviches to mango-jicama-shrimp salads, our menu is bursting with flavors that will transport you to the streets of Mexico. As a local family Mexican restaurant in Dallas, TX, we’re thrilled to return to the Oak Cliff neighborhood, which we once called home in the 90s. With our unmatched hospitality and Yucatan decor, you’ll feel right at home. Don’t miss our signature margarita, The Flamingo, an organic margarita with a pink sangria swirl. Located near the Bishop Arts District in North Oak Cliff, we now serve breakfast and brunch too. Join us for an unforgettable dining experience!

Our first time trying this restaurant serving Yucatan inspired cuisine and we enjoyed their brunch! It was great being able to have a conversation and catching up with our family, listen to good music, and partake in a delicious meal. Everything was freshly prepared, we had vegan tacos, huevos rancheros, chilaquiles w/chicken, 4 leches cake, and pancakes. The complimentary nacho chips and salsa were addictive. It’s nicely decorated, clean, plenty of seating, and a nice bar area. Great vibes here! The staff was polite, kind, and helpful. We didn’t have any drinks, but I hear there reealllly good!!! We will definitely be back and I recommend you try them.

La Comida is a fantastic addition to the dining scene. I’ve known Mario and Ivan for years from the Mi Cocina days, and it’s wonderful to see them bringing their talent and hospitality to this spot. The food is outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
They also serve an excellent margarita — perfectly balanced and delicious. We even received a fun sample in a cute little container, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Thank you, Ivan, for your wonderful hospitality, and Mario — we’ll definitely be back to see you soon. Highly recommend La Comida for anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and genuine service.

”Rarely do you find a place that feeds your soul as much as your appetite. This restaurant is run by two incredible brothers who clearly care about their community just as much as their craft. From the moment you walk in, you feel like family. The food is exceptionally fresh, but the real showstopper is the fresh frozen margaritas—easily the best in town. Support this local gem; they are doing amazing things here!”

Incredible. The food was good, the service was great and the atmosphere was fantastic! The owner took time to tell us his story and explain the mural that was painted by the other owner (his brother).

Enjoyed a nice Friday night dinner here. First time trying this place and we really enjoyed it. Had their top shelf margarita and was disappointed. It really didn’t taste like a top shelf version. We also had their beef chimichanga., that was a 5 star item for sure. Will definitely come check out their “Happy Hour”.
Service was 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
One thing that I must mention that bothered us throughout our visit was a funny smell. We couldn’t figure out what it was., like an old dirty rag smell. It happens and we understand., but we will give it another try for sure.
Definitely recommend this place.

I have gone to this spot a few times and loved it every time! Food is great and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Loved it so much I called them this week for a pick up order for enough flautas and sides for about 10 people for a small house gathering and the owners Mario and Iban were amazing! Great communication, delicious food and great price. Lunch, dinner, pick up, you name it, and you should go!

The food was full of flavor, with authentic Mexican dishes that didn’t disappoint. I had the carne asada tacos, and the steak was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and bursting with smoky flavor. The salsa was fresh and had just the right amount of spice. The cocktails were also impressive, especially their margarita, which was tangy and refreshing. The ambiance was vibrant and lively, making it a great spot for a fun night out with friends.

I called in advance to discuss a gluten allergy, and the host (who I believe was also the manage or owner?) said they could accommodate. He took my name and said to let them know when we arrive. We walked in and he gave me a brief rundown on what was safe for me, personally told our waitress about the allergy, and when she went to double check something with the kitchen, the chef himself came out to talk. (Chips are cooked in a shared fryer, but the Mexican rice is GF!) I’m really impressed with their diligence. My spouse and I both had a wonderful meal here!
