This place has amazing food at amazing prices! The food tastes like it was made with love like you just went to grandma’s house and she made her specialties and all the specialties are on the menu. Last time I went there, we had the sopapillas they were the best sopapillas i’ve ever had in Denver. So this time, I had to get a stuffed sopapilla, and it was hands down amazing.

Been here multiple times bc this is where we get invited to by others who are close by and yes there was 1 waitress when we were there. I’m not one to complain if I don’t need to especially so early in the day bc i wouldn’t want my day ruined..

Fantastic margaritas and had a delicious steak quesadilla. Found this place as it’s only a 6 minute bike ride from my house! The prices are incredible and the food and drink are exquisite. Such a cute, fun, fabulous spot. Will be coming here regularly

Been coming here for years and it is always good. Extremely consistent food and the staff are always very friendly. The food is great for pickup and taking home, but eating at the restaurant is the way to go. Especially if you can sit outside and have a few beers with your food.

I’m very disappointed with my experience at La Cocinita Mexican Restaurant on February 4. My family and I did not feel welcomed, and the service made us feel singled out. While we were eating, an employee repeatedly watched us in a way that felt uncomfortable and unnecessary.
What made it worse was the portion size. Our portions were noticeably smaller than the portions being served to other customers, including Mexican customers ordering similar items. I’ve come here often in the past, but after this experience, I won’t be returning.
Also, as a wheelchair user, I want to mention that the restaurant is not very wheelchair-friendly, which made the visit more stressful than it should have been.
I’m leaving this review to be honest about what happened and to encourage the restaurant to treat all customers equally and improve accessibility.

I been to this restaurant for over 20 yrs and beleived that it was good food at a good price. On last few visits, I noticed the portions went from normal servings to a dollop of rice, beans etc… I brought it to owners attention the last two visits to his restaurant, all he can do is, disregard my concern with sarcastic remarks. At one point he said that I “dont have to eat there”. Very true, I will not be going back to this establishment. It’s not that I want to complain, growing up in the same community as la Cocinita we try to support our local businesses. As the cost of food goes up, we don’t mind paying extra for correct proportioned plates. Be careful of the hand/community that feeds you!!!

Super clean, great tasting Mexican, friendly service, and our meals came out quickly. We ordered the Mexican Steak, and combination enchiladas. Our bill was under $30, which in Denver is hard to do for 2 people. They also have a family dinner menu for takeout which has also been pretty hard to find at this price point.
Definitely will be returning.
