We went tonight to the new location and I don’t think we’d go back. It’s simply overpriced and underwhelming. There are so many better options if you don’t mind driving a bit. I will say Freddy our server, was great. Very attentive and kind. But the rest of the staff were messing around and being loud. There were two birthday celebrations and they were obnoxious!! So so so loud! Really disappointed overall. Take your money elsewhere

Delicious tex mex menu and specialty cocktails. The Sopa de Pollo is the best I have ever had. The wait staff are very friendly. The entrance always has rotating seasonal decor for a great photo op. Fun place to celebrate a birthday.

I asked for 6 wings and fries and I was charged $22.00 just for mine which on the menu said 10.99, plus I drank water. I was double charged and when I asked them to correct it the manager only took $5 dollars off which was given as a tip. I am very unsatisfied with the service. I feel like the business thinks we are stupid and can not see that we are still paying the same price before showing the mistake to them to be corrected. It’s not about the money because we could pay it just fine but honesty and the customer service shows a lot about the integrity of an establishment. If the mistake had been corrected properly by management this could have all been avoided.
My friend with me got fried chimichunga which was not fried at all. It was shredded chicken wrapped in a soft tortilla with lettuce sprinkled on top with the white cheese poured over. Nothing was hot like it was freshly cooked. Very dissatisfied with this dining experience worth $50 ..

Ive gone to La Cocina for years now, and I’ve loved seeing them open new locations. Not a lot of restaurants do a great job of maintaining good food integrity, good service, and general higher standards when opening new locations. Not La Cocina. Every location- Great service, delicious food for a good price, and a calm relaxed atmosphere. Great if you just want standard Americanized Mexican food, or some more authentic dishes. I have never had anything but good experiences at EVERY location. Thanks guys for always giving us somewhere comfortable to go to get Great food. ¤

Visited today and the service wasn’t quite what we expected. Our server was friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed or possibly new. For the price, the food portions were on the smaller side. It’s also worth noting that an automatic gratuity was added for a party of six adults.

New: Took my cousin to the new location here for lunch. We had the lun h specials 9, 11, 17. The food was delicious and fresh. Two of us had some leftovers to take home. If you like a mixed grill, yhe quesadilla La Cocina is the way to go. Update: Late lunch/early dinner. Love the new building. I got the steak burrito bowl. Steak was tender and the veggies fresh. The rice was perfect. Enough for two meals. My friend got the number 9 -chicken quesadilla with hard shell taco and rice and beans. He said it was very good. Previous: Music just a little loud. Food fresh and delicious. Service was prompt. I have been to several locations and this was first one I had been to several year a ago.

Please like our reviews. Wheelchair accessible yet be prepared for the fun entry way doors. There are 2 sets of doors back-to-back. Make sure to ask someone to help you enter or you’ll be stuck between the 2. We never planned on eating here but we were famished after losing track of all time & space in the Walmart next door. The lights on the sign were mostly not lit but that didn’t stop it from having guests! We ordered some kid sized horchata drinks (rice, cinnamon beverage). Big mistake…we should have ordered the large size… wow. Those were amaaaazing. I would return just for that. Our server was Ramses and he was super quick and efficient. He didn’t need to right anything down. He was quick to get orders in and out. My husband ordered the beef fajita but we got the wrong meal… best mistake that could ever happen to us though…we got the “Texas” (chicken, beef & shrimp). Omg. Just go order ya the Texas and some extra tortillas and rice and it is enough to stuff the stomach of 2 hungry people. The portion was fitting to the name. I had the carne asada but the Texas took the cake. Will def be back later. I was quite impressed with how the food served was identical to the photos on the menu. Just wow. Highly recommend if you are in the Smithfield Walmart area.

Nice clean place, good food presentation. My first time at a Mexican restaurant. Not as spicy as I thought so it was good for my taste. Hostess wasn’t very friendly but I think it was because she didn’t speak English. Waitress was great. Very friendly and attentive. We left a good tip. Remember everyone, these people are not making much money during COVID. Help if you can.
