Stopped by this super cute establishment in Sienna. Quaint atmosphere, very clean, friendly staff, bar options and the food was delicious. Very well seasoned. I enjoyed the 5 street taco platter, Birria taco plate and chicharrones & guacamole. The owner was onsite and he was super friendly. He explained they are expanding the bar hours to include a “happy hour” and adding TV’s for viewing pleasure. Make sure you check out this hidden gem.

We enjoyed our first visit to La Cocina De TJ in Missouri City. The three Birria tacos I inhaled were amazing along with the consomme for dipping. My wife loved her Birria Ramen soup and she had enough for her evening meal….this stuff is too good to leave behind. I enjoyed a hot cup of cappuccino, they do this very well also, I noticed a giant bag of Geva coffee so i’m guessing that is where they get their coffee from….excellent choice, Houston roasted. I also enjoyed a cream filled empanada and a mixed drink called a paloma. The young man that waited on us was amazing, made us feel right at home.

This is a bustling little restaurant that still is quiet. It seems like you should order at the counter but there actually is table service. And the food is very good. I had the carnita and egg and hubby had the machado taco. We would order both again when we come back.

Came here because I wanted to celebrate taco tuesday! This place met all my expectations and then some. The beef in the tacos were tender, flavorful, and did not have any filler pieces. The agua frescas I was able to sample before selecting (cantaloupe & horchata) were GREAT!!! I ended up getting the cantaloupe and it was so fresh and complimented the tacos very well. I will definitely be back! On the plus they serve breakfast items all day and have happy hour from 2pm to 6pm (I believe the sign said M-F).

We visited La Cocina De TJ, a small family-style Mexican restaurant located in Sienna, on Sunday at 1 p.m. Right away, we could tell this was a popular spot, it was packed when we got there and we got the last empty table. After eating there, it’s easy to see why. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming, with the smell of good food filling the air and lively music playing in the background. The service was one of the best parts of the whole experience. The staff didn’t mind us filming for our project. The owner and staff were super friendly and checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Before we finished ordering, the staff brought us our chips and queso, so the service was amazing despite the number of people there and the staff cleaned up right after we finished. Their kindness and efficiency made a huge difference. We got an assortment of foods that were flavorful and authentic, we got a shared queso and chips (8/10) and churros for dessert (5/10) which were both pretty good, definitely homemade and freshly made. For our entree’s we got the 3 birria tacos (9/10), the torta (8/10), the street tacos (6/10), and the beef burrito (9/10). Our main observation was that meals with chicken were less flavorful and a little dry, while the ones with beef were super tender and flavorful. For less than $20 total for each person, we got a full, delicious meal that was worth every cent. We all left full and satisfied and would totally come again. The experience was a 9/10, definitely recommend.

Went for breakfast, only three people including me was inside. Person who took my order was nice and explained the menu to me. It was a bit confusing that a $10 breakfast didn’t come with any meat and bacon and ham was an $2 up charge. Prem meat is more. Same with the Chilaquiles, to add meat was an additional $5-$8 bucks making it an $20-$25 plate.

The xl quesabirria and consome wasn’t very flavorful, and the tortilla was very thin and soggy (It was only in the box for a 5 minute drive) as well as having no markings. It looked like it hadn’t been put on any grill or pan, as well as being premade. It is however a good amount of food and meat. The birria Ramen was better, but still not that flavorful and not that much food for the price.

Walked in and sat down and wasnt helped. No one employee made it known that you have to order on the register first, I got up and asked the cashier, she said, oh you have to order here first then sit down. I had to ask where the menu was because I wasnt even told that. Very awkward atmosphere. I ordered chicharrones con guacamole, this are the basic pork skins. Every ither restaurant I visit and get chicharrones, they are the meaty chicharrones. Guacamole was filled with lettuce on the bottom, who in the world puts lettuce in guacamole, but I see, just to make it seem.as if uts filled with guacamole, but really isn’t. Also had birria tacos, they come so plain. I dont mind spending money on food, but this really wasnt worth spending $35. Only reason why I didnt go elsewhere after getting no attention when I walked in. was because I was on lunch break and time is limited. These young employees need better customer friendly training, doesnt cost a thing to be welcoming. At least is a nice small spot.
