I was blessed to have been told about Maria’s stand at the Downtown Farmers Market and I’ve been a fan ever since!! My go to is the pupusa with queso and topped with the carne asada and Maria never disappoints!! The food is so delicious and I used to go to The Farmers Market on Saturdays just for her food when I could. I was so happy to find out she opened up a spot at The Imperial Food Hall!! If you’re ever in the area and want some good food you should stop by!! Maria is always so nice!!

La Cocina de Maria at The Imperial Food Hall is a true hidden gem! The chicharron and green chile pupusas are packed with bold, authentic flavor, and the steak tacos with beans and rice are perfectly seasoned and satisfying. Also tried the shrimp and chicken tacos—both fresh and flavorful. The fajita bowl is loaded and filling, and the quesadillas are cheesy and crisp. Don’t skip the churro and ice cream dessert—it’s the perfect sweet finish. Friendly service and seriously good food all around!

Maria’s food is made to order perfectly each and every time. I come here almost on a daily basis for lunch and her food is always cooked perfectly and her portions are generous. Not only is her food good but she is a truly humble and good person who always takes her time to greet you and converse as she prepares your meal. You’ll be satisfied and happy if you try her food. I highly recommend!

This place is amazing the food the atmosphere and the people are so lovely. Will be a spot we come to eat every time I’m in Albuquerque. The Pupusa Loca will not disappoint great portions and the hot sauce they have is insane.

If you visit Albuquerque, do not fail to experience this gem. If you live here, it should be a regular stop. The food was world class, Maria was an angel, and the cost was ridiculously low. I will eat here every time I am in town, and so should you!
