The house margaritas are great! Our food was delicious with a good colorado green chili with just the right hot with a good flavor! First time here and we enjoyed it. Next trip back to town we will stop again!!
Thank you!!!

Great food and service. I’m one that does not get cold easily, but had to wear my jacket the whole time. Also, they don’t have fajitas on the menu. Otherwise, the carne asada steak salad and the chile rellenos were excellent. I would still try again.

Very simply, my favorite restaurant in Telluride. I grew up in Telluride and still come home to visit often. We’ve seen countless restaurants come and go – La Cocina is timeless. The menu is so solid and so consistent. My favorite meal here is the field green salad with carne asada (extra cilantro lime dressing on the side). Like C’MON. So insanely good. It’s hard not to love their chips and salsa bar. Their enchiladas, vegan tamales, quesadillas and tacos are always a hit too. I cannot say enough good things about La Cocina.

Order at the counter, keep your tab open for drinks and food. The margaritas are delicious.
Chile relleno with red or green sauce. The green sauce is a poblano pepper sauce, a tad spicy and delicious. The red pepper sauce is guajillo pepper, also amazing.
The food is fresh, the salsas are amazing. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Bonus, the bartender is a paisana.

Such a great experience at La Cocina de Luz! The food was terrific and the service was out of this world! I wish I got the name of the manager/person taking orders, but I could have listened to his interactions all day long. Would be a multi million viewer YouTube channel! Went back for breakfast and was yet again impressed.

Great experience! A group of us were in town and wanted lunch! We came in hungry and were pleasantly surprised! Queso was best I have ever had! (Notice the pic of the half eaten bowl!!!) This salad was so fresh and the cilantro lime dressing was the perfect touch! Chips and hot sauce were yummy!!!! Husband had tacos and friends had quesadillas! This is a can’t go wrong! (And we are from Texas and know Mexican food!!)

Casual Mexican spot in the heart of Telluride, serving breakfast until 11:30, and a lunch/dinner menu after that. Order at the counter and they’ll serve you at your table. Big portions, we left full. Love that they have vegetarian and vegan options; ordered the vegan plate which was tasty. They have a limited alcoholic drink menu – serving beer, wine, and margaritas (also have coffee drinks and juices). Staff was friendly, vibe was casual. Lots of art decorating the walls.

Our first trip to Telluride and what a way to start. La Cocina de Luz is a must try if visiting Telluride. We were greeted by someone from their very friendly staff and were seated immediately. Free chips and two types of salsa were brought to the table. The salsa was fresh and delicious. My wife ordered quesadillas and they covered the entire plate. I ordered the special of the day which was a pan seared rainbow trout with quajillo peppers and garlic. Holy cow it was amazing. Everything tasted so fresh. If you see it offered you HAVE to get it. It was also nice to have several of the employees come by our table to see if we were enjoying our meal. We assumed it was the owner and the chef. 5*’s for La Cocina de Luz!

Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I enjoyed the quevos con machaca and the portions were good. The chai was really good and hot. The chips and salsa they bring out was a nice bonus. They were very busy and messed up our order which took awhile to fix but overall I’d definitely go back and try other options, highly recommend for Mexican flare.
