Ordered 3 fat carne asada tacos and some beans. Plus some horchata to wash it down. The steak on the tacos was quite delicious. Tender and beefy. The tortillas were thick and chewy. The red salsa was pretty hot. The green avo crema sauce was mellow. Horchata was the weak point. Definitely home made but had a peanuty aftertaste. Still good but not as good as the tacos.

The beans dude. Like a bowl of salty umami protein gravy. It’s unfair how tasty it was.

Sign said cash only so I got a small order. If I knew they took cards, I would have gotten something a little more fancy.

Delicious. Quick. Despite my utter inability to speak Spanish without making actual speaker’s ears bleed, we were able to order, because the staff are great. There is a cash only sign, but when we asked, they said they take cards. Lots of food. Really good.

Wonderful Central American restaurant. We had pupusas that were super rico. Perfectly made and comparable to in other cities. Comes with great curtido (lightly pickled spicy cabbage) of course, and nice horchata. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic affordable and friendly Salvadoran place in the PGH area! Must visit and is conveniently on the red line of the T light rail so very easy to visit from downtown. (For some reason I or Google posted this review by mistake to Las Palmas so I’m reposting in the correct place)

This place is the bomb! Gotta give a try for some authentic pupasa’s. LaCocina de Betty does it up right and won’t disappoint. Check out the menu for other specialities. Good flavor and just the right amount of food for lunch. Served with quickness and friendliness. Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the menu. Fresh ingredients! First went there on a Wednesday night and it was great. Went back tonight (Saturday) 12/7/24 about 6pm. There were three tables available, the rest filled with Hispanics. 2 of us (white) sat down and waited. More people came in and sat down twice and the waitress ignored us twice and wouldn’t give us menus. The place was silent until we got to the door as we left . So take it for what it is. Authentic food and an equally authentic experience
