The Quesabirria Tacos is a Must try! Come with rice and beans that tasted like my grandmas homeade rice and beans! If you know homeade Mexican food then you know this place is Dishing out some pretty Authentic Mexican Food.!! If you know my comments Reviews around Steamboat, you know i like to do a little digging into the resturants here, Whats Even Better is the owners of La Cocina is ran by our very own, Favorite Bartender OMAR from LA FIESTA by City Market and his Nephew Ivan. Fantastic Mexican cuisine! We ordered the taco bar for 8 to enjoy back at home and it was fantastic. The tortillas were very fresh; guacamole was delish; various types of salsa and tender carne asada & chicken. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant counter was located in a trendy food hall.

My partner and I got the veggie torta and the quesa birria! This was the best vegetarian torta I’ve ever had! The bread was extra flaky and buttery! The rojo sauce is spicy and flavorful. My partner who never finish a meal, smashed the birria. We highly recommend La Cocina!

Like clockwork 12 hours after eating the lukewarm al pastor torta on 12/9 I had the WORST food poisoning of my life.
I’ve eaten at several other places in Steamboat (including other Mexican restaurants) over the past few years and this has never happened. Had high hopes for this place since they had good reviews.

This place was so good!!! You can order froma any of the many restaurants & drinks from the bar. I highly suggest you try La Cocina for authentic Mexican food & great seating choices

Enjoyed this restaurant during my visit in steamboat springs! Corina was my waitress she was very knowledgeable on the menu and gave me great recommendations! I will definitely be returning on my next trip!
