Absolutely unforgettable experience
This was, without exaggeration, one of the most extraordinary gastronomic experiences of my life.
We came here to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday, and I could not have chosen a better place. From the very first moment, everything felt special — meaningful, emotional, and truly memorable.
There was not a single dish that any of us didn’t love — and we were five people, all with different tastes. I honestly cannot remember another restaurant anywhere in North or South America or the Caribbean where every dish impressed everyone at the table.
The service was beyond exceptional. The waitstaff were warm, attentive, genuinely kind, and made us feel so welcome that words hardly do it justice. Everything felt heartfelt, elegant, and effortless at the same time.
This was not just dinner — it was a complete sensory experience: emotional, aesthetic, and gastronomic. Truly magical.
Yes, at moments there was a slight outdoor smell from the surrounding area due to the wind — but it became completely irrelevant. The food, the atmosphere, and the people instantly eclipsed everything else.
After this evening, we tried many other restaurants on the island — and yet this one remains our absolute favorite. Honestly, this restaurant alone is a reason to return to Saint Martin again.

Amazing setting on the beach. Unforgettable views. Very romantic.
Unfortunately food did not hit the spot for us. Presentation was exquisite but flavors pedestrian. We tried quite a few dishes and nothing satisfied. Our neighbors were chain smoking which was kind of irritating. We moved tables to get away but about half the tables were smoking constantly which is common in French side restaurants with outdoor seating.

My family of 6 has a wonderful time dining at La Cigale. We arrived at 6 pm and got to enjoy a gorgeous sunset and views by the water. The service was excellent – not only was the staff extremely attentive but they were also friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was phenomenal – all the best classics you’d except from a high end French restaurant. I can’t wait to come back !!

Someone said they thought La Cigale had lost some of its former luster. They are wrong! La Cigale is charming, romantic and fancy not formal. I thought it would break the bank, but not so for a fine French restaurant. The food is terrific. I don’t know how many lobsters died to make the light broth for lobster bisque, but the depth of flavor was remarkable and without the heavy creaminess one often sees in such soups. We never order Dover Sole, but we splurged and it was both light and rich and full of flavor. Desserts were worth trying.

Great restaurant with the view on the Laguna. Some of the plates are delicious like the scallops, the Seabass and the chicken. Some like the escargot and the lobsters ravioli are missing something flavor. It’s worth it. The service and staff are great

La Cigale has lovely atmosphere on the beach and great service. Two of us had wonderful scallops and risotto. The lamb for the other 2 however… did not hit the mark. Overall a lovely evening… just a bit underwhelming for the top dollar they charge.

We managed to get a candlelit table on the beach last minute. The ambiance was amazing. The owner served us, he was very amiable. The food was second to none. My husband had the special lamb shoulder and it was the best he’s ever had, so much so that he asked for the recipe! I had scallops over risotto which was phenomenal. The wine list is good as was the dessert offerings. We loved it so much that we made reservations for the next evening!

unbelievable restaurant, the food was phenomenal and the scenery was unmatched. escargot were perfect, and the orange roughy and scallop risotto were both 10/10. we loved being right by the water and the servers were great with recommendations. the only thing i’d change was the length of time it took for anyone to give us the check… maybe that’s just the culture of the island and they assume you want to hang out after dinner but from dessert to getting our bill was at least an hour. overall though i’d highly recommend. also rec getting a taxi there because there’s really nowhere to park unless you squeeze on the narrow shoulder of the road.
