Good Mexican food is hard to find in Brighton, sure you could go to the well known chain, Las Iguanas but the food there is awful. Instead it’s nice to find somewhere authentic and that’s where La Choza fits the bill.
I love the decor here, it’s bright, colorful and like a little corner of Mexico in Brighton. It’s not a huge place so booking ahead is probably wise, and although we didn’t the staff happily placed us in a queue on their app, which texted us when our table was ready.
The staff here are fantastic, really friendly and happy to help. They make a mean Dark and Stormy too.
As for the menu, it’s simple but fantastic, choose your base, filling and salsa. Grab some Tortillas and the dips you want too. We didn’t see the special board till after we ordered so maybe that was worth a mention.
The food came fast, as did the drinks and it was too quality, so delicious and full of flavor. It may have been our first visit but it won’t be our last.
A shoutout for the churros too.
Can’t wait to visit again.

Ah amazing! If you want an incredible authentic Mexican food experience at a really reasonable price this is the place. If youre from out of town then this is what Brighton is about. Quirky af! And amazing food, and friendly service. Try the corn… so tasty!

Absolutely love it! Food is delicious and very good portion. Tacos is big and well served, enough for 2 to share. As main, had chorizo burrito that is very filling, the taste was divine and spicy just as it should be (you can choose the level) 10/10, my favourite Mexican in Brighton. Margarita cocktail also amazing

Our go-to Mexican spot in Brighton! This time, we visited with a group of eight, and as always, the experience was fantastic. The food was delicious—generous portions and served warmly. I didn’t quite catch everything we ordered, but everything was consistently delightful. Of course, I couldn’t resist their nachos—they’re simply heaven!
For drinks, some of us enjoyed wine, although they didn’t have wine glasses, so we used water glasses. It wasn’t an issue at all and didn’t detract from the experience.
Service was friendly and efficient, with surprisingly quick turnaround this time—no long waits for our food.
We’ll definitely be back for more soon!

From someone who has had authentic Mexican food, La Choza did not disappoint! I came to this restaurant in hopes of finding Mexican cuisine to help my homesickness and the food and my horchata was absolutely phenomenal! You can tell they really put a lot of effort into making the food and the service was really fast (though it may have been because it was midday on a weekday)! I loved the colorful decor and felt like I was right back home! Definitely come here if you want to have some good Mexican food in Brighton! You will not be disappointed! 🙂

Unfortunately I cannot add a new review so I am updating this one! I went back for my birthday meal and the food was still excellent however, I booked a table for 12 people and they sat us on a table that could only fit 8-9 people comfortably so we had to wait for another table to leave and then be sat across 2 tables.
The dark haired girl who served us was lovely, very patient and polite with our big group however the blond who also served us was rude and seemed like she hated her job, when I went outside for a cigarette I overheard her complaining to a friend about our table which is just unprofessional.
Overall I do recommend this restaurant but only for 2-4 people at a time. The food is magnificent just a shame about the blonde waitress being so rude.

Busy, nice atmosphere and most importantly incredible food with a smile! Staff were all faultless and made our evening eve more enjoyable, thanks team! Will be coming back for sure. Make sure to check out the slow cooked goat – it’s not obvious on the menu!

For the prices I would have expected better service. It took a very long time to get salsa, chips and a side of guacamole (which I was charged 2 sides but on the menu it said just an extra .50p) and tacos. The guacamole wasn’t good at all and the salsa was okay. The tacos were nice but full of jalapeños. No one checked in to see if I needed anything. For the price of everything, not worth it. The ambiance is cute but I’m disappointed especially seeing all the positive reviews.

We had to wait half an hour for the food to be ready, but it was worth the wait! The best burrito and nachos we’ve had in a bit and the staff is very nice. Also, the coolers are delicious, so I would definitely recommend stopping by!
