The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic with a perfectly chill vibe. Even without a reservation, we were greeted immediately by a warm, pleasant hostess and seated right away—thoughtfully placed as far from the door as possible since it was literally the coldest February evening imaginable.
We started with drinks. I ordered the On Empty, which was divine, and my partner had a spiked pomegranate lemonade. Both were creative cocktails, well-balanced, and incredibly delicious.
For food, we ordered the chilled cucumbers, spare ribs, chicken tacos, and wonton chips. Every single dish was fantastic, but the salsa roja deserves its own moment—I loved it so much I wanted to bathe in it.We didn’t get many pictures of the food because we devoured it as soon as it arrived.
Service was impeccable from start to finish. One of the staff even sent us home with a container of salsa roja after I asked if they sold it, which was such a thoughtful touch.
I dishes with a black limousine which is like a tequila espresso martini. The perfect ending to a delicious and creative meal. Everything was executed perfectly at La Chinesca!
My god, this place is amazing. We’ll absolutely be back.
The salad was fantastic and big enough to share between two people! Also pictured is the churro french toast and the burrito mojado. The plated the tiramisu really well too. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, and I’m looking forward to my next visit!
I went with a pescatarian friend, so I did not eat a meat dish. We ordered the wonton chips and three dips (red salsa, salsa verde and duck sauce) the chips were crispy and salty, and the dips were so well done. We ordered the tuna tostada which was a great mix of texture and flavor. The macha crisp had great spice and the tuna was delicious. We ordered the fish tacos and the avocado tacos – both different and delicious. The orders had three tacle each of small corn tortillas, the fish was lightly spicy, and the avocado was fried but refreshingly light. For drink I had their take on a dirty martini which was an elevated and interesting experience for a simple cocktail. Finally we ended with 3 church’s and chocolate sauce, the churros were light and airy on the inside, crispy and sugar coated on the outside and the chocolate sauce was great quality. Altogether our meal was $55 per person and the portions were filling. I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant meeting it’s very highly hyped expectation. I’ll go again and you should feel compelled to try it out!
We also ordered their vegetable fried rice and it was sooo spicy. To the point it wasn’t enjoyable. But apparently it isn’t usually on the menu, so they’re in the clear! For big shareable dishes like that, I would leave the spice on the side.
We got Tijuana street dog as appetizer, and let me tell you, this is a must get! The sausage was juicy in a mixture of chilis and cilantros, almost similar to the toppings of banh mi. For the two mains, we got grilled duck quesadillas which mimic Peking duck with its oyster sauce and salsa macha. I think, personally, the duck didn’t stand out and was shadowed by the sauce. The char siu tacos were a bit dry and would benefit from a salsa. On the good note, the customer service was great. They offered my puppy some water while we sat outside in the patio. I’d go back again and try other things for sure.
