Medellin, Colombia, is renowned for its exceptional street food. I’ve never try the same level of authenticity and flavor but I found here and in New Jersey. Every plate I’ve tried there is simply outstanding; And one a good point is doesn’t have any problems with pets.

Ordered food for takeout. We had a couple of items — it was okay, plain, expensive, but nothing outrageously bad except for the hot dog. If you’re charging me $17 for a hot dog from a neighborhood restaurant in Bergenfield, it better be the best flipping hot dog. The “meat” was the frozen kind, the toppings had no flavor, it was a mess, and the bread was your typical grocery-store hot dog bun. They didn’t even do anything to the bread — not toasted, no butter or olive oil, just a soft bun straight out of the plastic. If they charged me $5 for that hotdog, I won’t be ecstatic about it but I won’t be that upset either.
I’m really upset about the amount of money we spent for what was, at best, mediocre takeout.
People don’t always mind spending an egregious amount of money on food — but when they do, they expect to feel full, satisfied with the flavors, and good about the experience. This was very upsetting.

Since this place opened few months back, I see it all the time during my commute. Finally got a chance to walk in on Saturday morning. Very pretty restaurant, with lots of colors and decorations inside. I was surprised to see their gigantic menu that has so many different kinds of items including burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, arepas, papas, ensaladas, patacons, antojos, bakery, desserts and juices.
I order couple of beef empanadas and flan to go. The lady packed up
my items right away, super quick service. Beef empanadas were filled with beef and potatoes, with delicious green and spicy mayo sauce on the side. I was blown away by the flan. Such creamy taste yet it was dense. Like other flans it wasn’t over baked, so it still had light yellow color instead of dark brown on top.
My first visit was great. I am going to stop by again to try the other items in the menu.

I had an amazing experience at La Chatarrería in Bergenfield, NJ! The service was top-notch—so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was treated like family. The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic Colombian flavors. Every dish was crafted with care, and you can really tell they take pride in what they serve. The atmosphere was cozy and vibrant, and the staff made sure I had everything I needed. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit spot for incredible food and great service. I’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you Valentina, Juan Pablo, Paola, Isabel.

Love to see a good place on this corner, never really wanted to come in since all the other businesses prior here were not good but we decided to give it a try. Parking could be a little challenging, you may find parking behind the building or on the main street. We ordered Hawaiian hot dog, arepa mixta and Oblea. Hot dog was delicious, the actual arepa was super bland BUT what was on it was really good, the chicharron was crunchy and full of flavor. Oblea was so good, cant wait to go back for cholados and more hot dogs, not too sure about the arepas for the future.
We wish them Exitos!! Y coloquenle saborcito a las arepas, solo porque son de maiz blanco no tienen que saber a nada.

Well the waitress got the order wrong. I wanted the carne arepa rellena and the mixed one. She gave me the chicken instead. Very dry. The pink sauce didn’t do much to change the flavor or even help to bring out the flavor. The arepa itself was very soggy. Didn’t seem to be grilled or toasted. I would skip the experience if you’re looking for Arepa Rellena.
