From my first call I was impressed with their warm and willingness to accommodate 43 people in their restaurant (all at once, not an easy task) but they brought more tables and chairs and made it possible… we actually had the whole restaurant for ourselves which was fantastic!
the food was so fresh and delicious. I had never tried Guatemalan food, and loved it.
The service was fast and accurate and super friendly.
Karina and the whole staff was absolutely amazing 10 stars for them!
This place is clean, food is fantastic, atmosphere is relaxed, service is excellent and their prices are great!!! Totally recommend as you visit the keys.

We tried so many different plates and they were all good… I had the Carne con Papas and it was amazing!!!

Great food and service. Huevos fritos plate was very much like the plato típico found in Guatemala. We added on steak and it was great. The place was a bit small but when we went mid-morning it was not crowded.

Wow! Stopped here as we were looking for “Mexican food” turns out this place is Guatemalan. Never had it. Tried it and loved it!! Thought I was ordering steak and potato taco but came out rolls and fried. Omg So delicious! My husband got some kind so steak and potatoes but was served more like a stew… also amazing. Not what we thought but it was our favorite meal while in the Keys!
Prices also amazing!

It was our first time experiencing Guatemalan food and we really enjoyed the flavor profile of the dishes we ordered. The restaurant was very clean, open, and bright. The restaurant staff was extremely attentive and very friendly. We could hear our food being prepared fresh in the kitchen, but it also came out nice and fast. I would highly recommend stopping in or ordering take out and giving this place a try.

Excellent food — Guatemalan restaurant with a Tex-Mex feel (in my opinion)
We stopped at La Chapina for lunch while traveling through the Keys and had an excellent experience. It’s a Guatemalan restaurant, but the food had a Tex-Mex style feel in my opinion—comforting, flavorful, and really satisfying.
One quick note: if you’re specifically looking for fish/seafood in the Keys, this probably isn’t your stop (they don’t really have fish on the menu), which caught us off guard. But what they do serve is outstanding.
I ordered the breakfast burrito at lunch (no meat) and really enjoyed it. Tyler had the breakfast quesadillas and thought they were very good with great flavor. His strongest recommendation? Get the bacon. (“Only the bacon.”) It really was excellent.
Susan had chips with queso and enjoyed them, even though she didn’t do a full meal.
Pro tip: ask your server for the special hot sauce. The hottest/best one wasn’t on the table — it was kept in the kitchen, and it was amazing.
Bottom line: not a seafood stop, but absolutely a five-star place for excellent food.

We split the breakfast tostada, had a couple cortaditos and a mango juice. Easily the best breakfast we’ve had on our trip and maybe the best we’ve had all year!

Excellent food! It felt like we were at our family’s house and got a home cooked meal! The wait was worth it as the seafood soup, pollo en crema, chile rellenos and steak were excellent and presented like a high end restaurant! The staff is also vey friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back and next time for a Chapin breakfast. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience! The service was great and our server gave us suggestions of things to try which I always appreciate. Everything tasted delicious!! It was a great authentic experience for Guatemalan food and quality service. If I lived locally this would be a place I would come back to time and time again, everything on the menu sounded delicious!

Great little hole in the wall restaurant.
Food was fresh and made to order and very authentic. The server was kind and the owners came out to ask if the food was up to par which was kind on their part.
Would definitely come again and recommend
