La Cevicheria was born out of a desire to highlight the amazing seafood we have available on the Nicoya Peninsula. We work exclusively with local providers, supporting local families in our quest to deliver the freshest and best quality ingredients on a daily basis. Our mission is to showcase what Ceviche is and can be with a modern twist, it is the quintessential expression of Latin American fusion cuisine, with each region having different variations on the classics. Ceviche can be many things, but the importance of fresh ingredients is paramount. Here at La Cevicheria we have fresh seafood daily, so you can have something a little bit different every time you visit us. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Came we bought some ceviche and it was really good. They had some good specials on where he get a cocktail included with a big ceviche. This was really good. Surprisingly however, the medium was actually a bit of value per weight of fish compared to the large.
We had the Mexican chino and tropical savages and they were both excellent. All the fish that they have is really good and fresh, and caught locally, however we chose to have one of our ceviches with mahi mahi fish and one of them with mixed fish. All the flavours they use are really good and their patacones were excellent.
One thing to watch out for is the price – the dishes here aren’t cheap but they are enjoyable.
All the staff here speak great English so if you are a tourist don’t feel out of place! They also speak Spanish as it is their native language!
I would recommend this spot to other tourists and would suggest you share some plates to partake in their great flavours.
I am reducing this to 3 stars due to the price. It was very expensive and they charged us cocktails separately which they had suggested they would not do. Watch out guys!

We had the most incredible experience here! We had gone fishing that day and caught some ahi tuna and Mahi Mahi! Our captain recommended coming here to have it prepared! We messaged ahead of time and they responded so fast! The owner came Our and told us the amazing meal he was creating with our fresh fish. Had to be one of the most amazing meals we have had! The service was fantastic, so attentive and always checking in. These guys know how to make some great fresh fish and it’s a must for coming to town to stop at. Seafood was very fresh. Enjoyed the tropical ceviche with mixed fish and patatones. They offer 6+ types of seafood. The grilled shrimp with sweet potato was good but didn’t pack as much flavour. I would go back and just have ceviche.

First at all..it’s hard to get a good ceviche in Santa Teresa but this place definitely got it . It’s my second time in three days now having dinner here. The ceviche was one of the best I ever tried and I tried a lot. I choose the mexican style with camerones and pulpo. You can choose spicy from 1-10. I took the 5 and it was spicy but tasty and eatable! Also had to try the homemade lemonade and de fried camarones as starter

We ended up going here twice while we were in the area for a week vacation. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals. No bad choice, we had seared tuna, poke bowl and the stir fry. For the poke bowl and stir fry you get to choose your combination of sea food.
