Above and beyond customer service. Food was some of the best I’ve had for birria. I had a torta with birria tatemada and an egg also came with consume. The average person probably won’t finish it in one sitting delicious. Also had an iced coffee that had a hint of cinnamon sweet but not too sweet it was perfect. Can’t wait to go back and try different plates. Highly recommend this birria spot. They have an award for authentic food from Union Tribune I can verify that.

This was my first time visiting for lunch, and it’s an amazing birria taco place! I had been curious after seeing other people’s reviews.
The owner who welcomed us was wonderful, and all the staff were very friendly with great smiles—excellent service overall. Since it was a weekday, we were seated right away without any wait.
Most importantly, the tacos were delicious. I wanted to try a variety, so I asked the owner for recommendations and ordered four different tacos. Each one was very filling and generously topped with birria.
My favorite was the crispy taco with beans, but honestly, everything was delicious and I was very satisfied. Next time, I’d love to try one of their bowls!

Wow! Not what we expected in a mall taco shop. Blew us out of the water. Miguel enthusiastically greeted us and took us to a table. Gave us time to look over the menu and came back to answer any questions and take order. Music was just the right level so you could talk with your companions. Nice, simple, clear menu. Tooka a chance on something I never had before. Taco de birria tatemado and con nervio. Also ordered a mulita. House salsa and hot sauce had great flavor and enough heat to add to our tacos. Positive friendly attitude of Miguel and the rest of the staff makes this a 5 star restaurant. Food was on point since I work in the area occasionally, I will definitely be back!

This is hands down the best Birria spot in San Diego county. I was greeted by the owner Miguel Fernandez and his Son Miguelito Fernandez, they were both so very warming and kind. Miguelito gave me two complimentary quesadillas to try. I got two birria tacos and a birria torta all very delicious. The hot sauce is home made by their mother’s recipe perfect spice to enjoy your food. I topped it off with a home iced coffee nice and sweet with a hint of cinnamon. 100000/100000 must try. Fun Fact the owner Miguel Fernandez is the brother of the famous Ed Fernandez Birria, Miguel’s establishment makes you feel more at home and welcomed.

This is a really good place to have birria/breakfast! The customer service is awesome, you feel like you are with friends at soon as you step in. The birria torta was delicious and birria tatemada exquisite! Totally recommend this place!

Amazing food, try several different things while here – it’s all terrific! Service is better than anyplace I’ve been in a long, long time. Honestly, I’d come back for just the service but the food, service and atmosphere are genuinely impeccable. I fully plan on returning and will be coming back on a regular basis. Try the red sauce, with chili arbol! It’s a bit spicy but the flavor is so very good & you can buy a bottle to take home (so, yeah some is coming home with me). The only thing that’s not great is that it can be crowded due to the popularity, but even with a wait it’s worth it.

I recently dined here again for the 2nd time taking my brother’s family here for the first time. We were greeted by Miguel and let me tell you… First off ALL their food is OFF THE CHARTS AMAZING!!! But the best part is despite how great their food is, the service you get when dining here is even better than that. You truly are treated like family guests being served at Miguel’s home. He and his staff take your order at your table and bring you everything, you just prepare to enjoy some of the best Birria you’ve ever tasted. Their secret ingredient??? All the food and drinks they serve are prepared and served with “love”. It’s not just eating out over there, it’s an “experience.” Those who know, know. Look at the previous reviews! You don’t have over 200 reviews and can tout a 4.8 Star consistency unless your food and service is really really good.
On to what we ordered… We had a combination of Birria tacos, Birria tacos tatemado, Birria tacos extremo, quesabirria (w/ flour tortilla), their house coffee, and an agua fresca jamaica… NOTHING ordered wasn’t finished! Ate it all and the food was served hot, fresh, tasty, and made with love! Let me tell you something, you might be able to get equally delicious food like theirs down the street, but you will NOT receive better service than at this restaurant.
Their dining room was clean, their customer restroom was also clean, they accept AMEX cards for payment (not all restaurants accept AMEX). We can’t wait to go back!

Soon he was telling us about their spot, after we told him it was our first time dining there. Parking is much better here than at their competitors down the street, service was 2nd to none, food was SO SO good! I literally have nothing but great things to say about La Central… GREAT food, excellent service, clean dining room area & restrooms, plentiful off-street parking. If you love really good Birria and haven’t tried this spot, you’re really missing out. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself, I guarantee you’ll be a regular! Miguel and the rest of the La Central family are definitely doing something special over here.

I have to start with the service. The hospitality was un paralleled. I met Miguel Sr., and Miguel Jr. When I stopped in. Miguel Jr was the first face I saw when entering and he immediately made us feel at home with his friendliness. Then to my surprise Miguel Sr also came out to my table and gave us a warm welcome.
Our server was Marisol, and not only was she very fast and checked up on us frequently, but she had a smile that never went away, and quite frankly was contagious!
Every server here moved fast, tables flipped quickly, and the service was a sight to see!
The food? Out of this world! Everything we tried was off the hook!! From the quesadilla mulitas, to the beautiful protein packed taco El Comandante, everything looked beyond beautiful!
My must try aside from the amazing tacos de birria, is the burrito tatemado! The burrito was oozing with flavor, dripping with cheese, and the meat had a slight crispy spin on it.
The seating is easily available, and they can accommodate large parties easily. The parking lot isn’t the biggest, but 15 of us found parking easily, and had a table prepared quickly.
There are thousands of taco joints but this one is on a whole different level of excellent. Easy five stars and my new favorite spot when I roll through! Tha k you Miguel Jr and Sr! You guys have a gem here!
