La central Mexican bakery it’s known for the Mexican bread tamales and MASA. The bread really good really good. The only thing about it. They have really really bad service people cuts in front of you. They don’t even ask Who’s next. The younger Girls have a Moody face don’t care they just leave you hanging waiting to take your order. They notice you’re waiting and they don’t care they take whoever order. that it’s really really bad service. They need better customer service or a number system.

They have really great tasting tamales!!! I tried the cheese, chicken, and pork tamales. DELICIOUS. Loved them all. Well proportioned, sufficient filling, tasty and moist! I meant to get chicken, pork, and beef but they gave me cheese since all I said was 1 of each flavor. Maybe they ran out of beef. I should have checked but no big deal. I am definitely coming back again soon. This is now my favorite tamale spot! Tamales run $2.68 each served hot and $1.00 each if you purchase them cold.
Also tried the bread with jalapeno cream cheese which some people rave about. It is the bolillo bread filled with cream cheese mix jalapeno. Was decent but felt it needed more filling. I wouldn’t get it again. Rather have another tamale instead! Bolillo bread is 3 for $1.00.
Really tiny bakery shop. Be careful when arriving. Check windows to see how crowded it is before entering the store. The customer standing area is enough for 3 adults with minimum 6 foot distance. There is no distance monitoring. You need to make sure you are taking safety measures. Wear a mask and stay away from others unless purchasing.
Parking limited. Street parking or check somewhere around the back. Staff was nice and they speak English. They take credit cards and mobile pay. I used Samsung Pay. I visited 08/29/20.

The tamales here are very good I tried chicken, pork and even the cheese with rajas that I normally don’t like were amazing…the churro was delicious filled with cajeta…I was not expecting that. The only thing that sucks is the parking. I’m not sure if they have any dedicated parking on the side or the back, but the street parking is super dangerous, cars zoom by so fast..be very careful.

We bought a big rosca de reyes and only one muñequito had, how dissappointed my kids were.

My mom brought me an assortment of Pan Dulce from this place and every piece tasted like I was a kid again. Soft spiced bread with harden colorful sugars. It was so amazing. I live too far to get some every weekend. Locals are very lucky. And for me? East LA’s famous La Azteca, does not fill this craving. Thank you for giving me that piece of my childhood back!!!

Ordered tamales. They were great!
Bought some pastries also, my wife ate the cheese muffins, must have been good because she didn’t save any for me.

I have been going to this bakery since I was a kid in the 70’s. Always, great pastries and deserts. Everyone has a smile on their face and happy to help you choose the best of the day.

I can’t thank this place ENOUGH for coming through with my last min Christmas tamales! They were Soooo good and of great size! The pork and cheese tamales were amazing.
Highly recommend them! I kid you not that on Christmas Eve there was a line at 5am wrapped around already for tamales! So you know they’re good! Will come here again!
