This was the best find on our entire trip! The beautiful atmosphere and intimate setting is perfect! The food— eat everything, it is amazing, in particular the fondue and escargot! Don’t forget to stop in their wine bistrot around the corner! Pauline and Mathieu, we love you!

We absolutely LOVED this place! We had been craving fondue and it exceeded all expectations. Our waitress was fantastic—so attentive, friendly, and gave us excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and perfect for a romantic evening.

We started with escargot, then shared the fondue with bread and potatoes, paired with a lovely bottle of wine. The bill came to 105€, which felt well worth it for more than two hours of delicious food and outstanding service. The music added to the great vibe too.

Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a memorable fondue date!

This is not the first, or second, or even third time we have visited La Cave du Fromager. It was recommended by a friend years ago and we try and make it for dinner when we are in Nice. Honestly, if you like cheese and wine, this tiny restaurant in the basement is for you! Friendly and multi-lingual staff make you feel welcomed, not rushed and serve your food promptly, still piping hot. Two notes- they only take cash and the bill is waiting for you upstairs. Enjoy and maybe take that cholesterol pill before you go.

A great restaurant with great atmosphere and food!

Food:
The Fondue is amazing and I recommend taking the meat platter or mushrooms additionally to it. It’s simply delicious. They have their own house wines, which I deeply recommend as well.

Service:
The service was friendly and quick and also helped with decision-making in regards for example of wine (let’s you taste if you are unsure).

Atmosphere:
The cellar is nicely decorated and has lots of wine bottles which fits to the overall atmosphere and setting. It was very quiet even though every table was placed.

After having a starter at their other restaurant, Le Bistrot du Fromager, we decided to continue our evening at La Cave du Fromager and it was such a great choice! The restaurant is set inside a beautiful cave, which makes it a really unique and special place you wouldn’t expect from the outside.

We had the raclette, which was absolutely delicious. The charcuterie plate was generous, the Morbier cheese full of flavor, and everything paired perfectly with a great glass of wine.

Our favorite dining experience on our trip to Nice. Very cool wine cellar type atmosphere with impeccable service, we chatted with a couple of the staff members long after our meal and had an amazing time getting to know them. We could not decide what dish we enjoyed the most because it was all so fantastic, I think we ordered just about everything on the menu. Do not miss this place, absolute gem. We are still talking about it weeks after our trip.

Such a cozy vibe in their wine cellar. Vaulted ceilings, soft light and you’ll be surrounded by wine, which creates such a unique atmosphere. This is a perfect place for fall and winter dinners with a focus on cheese such as fondue and raclette. The charcuteries were high quality and service very warm and friendly. If definitely come back! So great to see restaurants in old town that are genuine.
