Moved here in 2010, always ate other places. Tonight was our first night trying La Cava & it is my wife’s 50th birthday, so making it special was pretty high stakes.. husbands that blow major birthdays and anniversaries stay in the doghouse long time. I’m glad I took the risk. It truly was special. The food was as good as the service, which is to say, very good. If I had a nit to pick, two of the pieces of silverware were sticky feeling. Commercial dishwashers, these things happen, far from the end of the world. The food was simply wonderful. Three appetizers, three entrees, three deserts, reasonable beverages was a little less than I expected to pay which was a nice surprise. It will still likely be a “special occasion” place for us as there are other cuisines we seek out more frequently, but I don’t think we’d hesitate to go back if we were looking for quality Italian.

La Cava was the perfect date night. The food and vibes were immaculate. Just wish they had a larger variety of options for entrees and cocktails. Definitely recommend

Outstanding innovative Tuscan cuisine. The classic bistecca alla Fiorentina (porterhouse steak for 2) was phenomenal! The ambience of an old church was perfect considering the porterhouse was akin to a religious experience. Lol. Juicy and very tender with garlic and rosemary. The starter of octopus was innovative, delicious and had us craving for more. The pasta course split for 2 of homemade cavetelli, speck and mascarpone was very good. A tad under seasoned but tasty.
No pseudo “Italian” spaghetti & meatballs here or ubiquitous fettuccine Alfredo drowned in cream sauce. La Cava is as close to dining in Italy that we have found in NC.
Great Italian selections on the wine list that has some reasonably priced jewels.
The service was professional, very friendly and efficient.
Well worth the trip and an outstanding value.
Qui si mangia bene!
We very much recommend.

The restaurant is based in an old church. The staff is attentive and very polite. The food was at the right temperature and plated delightful. The music level and type fit the decor of the restaurant style.

This restaurant gave me a Fall River, MA vibe. Definitely old world feeling, makes me miss home. Waitresses were all very pleasant and attentive. The service was excellent, and food came out quick. Our drinks were good and strong. Our meals were delicious. It’s fine dining folks, little food for alot of money, but the experience was worth it. They brought dessert out on a cart for us to pick. Overall, I will definitely visit again.

Been wanting to try this place. Went for a date night & it was delicious. A beautiful authentic Italian restaurant inside an old church in downtown Salisbury made for a lovely romantic dinner. The service was great, the servers knowledgeable. The table side salad presentations were impressive. Nice assessment of Italians wines, including one of my favorite regions, Montepulciano. Food was delicious, hot, and flavorful. We had the lamb & veal. And to top of a wonderful experience we had the almond Tiramisu – a delight. We’ll be back. Highly recommend. THANK YOU La Cava

Tried this place for the first time today from out of town. The service was phenomenal and I particularly remember the waitress Aubrey offered me excellent and timely service while answering all and any questions I had about the menu. She was so personable and really made the experience so much better

Very disappointing dinner!! Lobster Bisque was lukewarm at best. Did not have any lobster but did have pieces of something that was chewy….only took a couple of spoonfuls. Lobster ravioli were also very disappointing. Also came out to table less than room temperature. Pasta was chewy and did not have any real taste except for cheese on top.
Needless to say I will probably not try again for those prices!! McDonald’s would have been cheaper and save $100’n

We liked the atmosphere in this old renovated church. The staff is attentive and friendly. I had the fish special which I was told tasted like tuna. It tasted nothing like tuna. My wife ended up ordering a appetizer because she didn’t care for the short list off main meals on the menu. I watched two large dogs being walked into the restaurant. Also had someone set just outside of the door we were setting beside smoking a cigar. Every time the door was opened the smell and smoke would come in. We had a group of six and I can’t say anyone was real excited about their experience.

We went to meet friends for dinner. Our first time here. The atmosphere is nice. The choices for dinner were great. Pasta, eggplant parmigiana oh so good. Dessert cart brought table side to choose from. It was a great place for dinner.
